So so SO good! Went for lunch today and sat outside. Everything from my fresh iced tea with lime to my conch kimchee roll was delicious! Was told about this spot by a local retailer and they were right, it is VERY good. Nice thick chunks of fresh conch in my roll & a beautiful presentation=heaven. I'll be a regular on my lunch break for sure! :) more

Akashi is by far one of the most MEDIOCRE sushi restaurants I've ever been to. I doubt you'll get sick from anything you eat, but don't be prepared to be wowed or impressed by any of the offerings. This is sushi for people who have never had decent sushi.\r \r When I went, I had only 3 options for fish: salmon, whitefish, and tuna. Of course there was eel, shrimp, etc. But, in a city that has amazing seafood, offering only 3 types of fish is a travesty. Spicy Tuna roll had too much mayonnaise and not enough spice. White fish was good w with some ponzu sauce. Salmon tasted farm raised. \r \r The restaurant has a great location with a nice patio to sit at, so one would hope that it would be far better, but the sad truth is that you might as well pick up your sushi from the supermarket if you're going to go here. more

I went for lunch. It was overpriced and awful--the age tofu tasted like tofu rolled in stale corn flakes and the broth tasted like watery soy sauce. The spicy tuna roll was not spicy and did not taste fresh. The eel roll also tasted off. I was so disappointed in the food here. Was really hoping for a good sushi restaurant in the Grove. This place serves poor quality fish and the dishes, tasteless. Expensive for the quality. Save your money. more

I order some rolls the other day, and they came on top of something that looked like fat chicken skin. I called, and they took forever to come back to my house to get the item back. They said it was fat eel skin, and when I called the manager, he had very poor English and did not seem to realize how nasty the thing looked to me and how sloppy the cook was in leaving that thing on the bottom of my rolls! Never again! more

Our favorite sushi place, hands down one of Miami's best. Only negative side to this place is the parking and the place is small. You can expect a long wait and slow service but it's worth it. The prices for the rolls compared to many sushi places is not expensive, you must try the Alex # 2 roll and the South Miami. Go to their site and see their menu, it's has a lot of variety. more
