I called AJ Perri for their $99 ""Any Drain"" clog clearing special, which they honored perfectly. A professional looking man came quickly, listened carefully, and cleared the standing water in our pipes. For $99, I think we got a steal. Then came the ""gotcha""! He said our cleaning came with a free camera inspection, and scheduled another employee to come out later that day.\r \r The next employee came out and performed a camera inspection, which he said showed a total destruction of our main sewer line. He said we were leaking sewage directly into the ground, and put a flag marker on the spot in our brick patio under which this broken pipe was located. He said that our area has ""Orangeburg"" pipes, which were wartime pipe products made of pressed paper wrapped with tar paper instead of metal. They work fine, until they don't. When they fail, there is no repair except full replacement.\r \r The price? $3,750 to dig the first hole and repair up to 10' of pipe. If the rest of the 100' run needed replacement (only possible to know after this work is done), it could have run up to $20,000. But don't worry- the $99 drain clog would be credited against it! The camera technician tried every high-pressure sales tactic in the book to get me to sign, but I wouldn't without another estimate. Thank goodness!\r \r I called a local sewer repair company, Apollo in Keyport, NJ. Their guys do not share the professional appearance of AJ Perri, but on the plus side, they aren't crooks. Brian from Apollo found the problem 25 feet in the opposite direction from where AJ Perri said it was, and fixed the whole thing for $1,000. He quoted me a $750 dig fee, and told me it would probably be $1,500 total, but when the backhoe wasn't needed, he charged me less. The pipe was NOT broken in any way, just severely clogged. Not made of Orangeburg, either, but solid cast iron. After the repair, everything works perfectly. There were no pipes of any kind anywhere near the spot AJ Perri said was where they would dig. They were either trying to throw off any future bidders for the job, or else they just had no clue.\r \r Consider AJ Perri if you need a cheap drain clearing, but don't let them rob you for any additional work!!! more

Simply the Best.\r I had a problem with backup and clogging with sewer line. I called A.J.Perri and technician Mike Buckley came same day. Unfortunately the problem was not completely solved,so I called the company again. Next day,he came again and solved the problem with my satisfaction.He explained me the root cause of the problem and suggested camera inspection which I am going to have it done. Mike is very knowledgeable and friendly.If I have my own company,I would hire him right away. Thanks A.J.Perri. Keep up the good work. more

I am a service prof for the pharma industry and believe in giving credit for great service. We called AJ Perri at 630pm on the hottest day of the year and were promised a visit between 830 and 1030pm. Keith arrived at 715pm. He was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and a great person to have at our home. He quickly resolved our problem efficiently and with costs in mind. An absolutely wonderful service experience. We have had a water heater, and a furnace installed by A.J. ALL of the service technicians, plumbers, and indoor weather experts have been OUTSTANDING! they are honest, VERY professional, and ALWAYS makes us feel comfortable. I would really like to especially regognize Michael Kertesz, Steven Barbiero, and Jeff Schoolcraft. They are appreciated. AJ Perri should hold onto employees like this. They are much too hard to find these days. more

ZERO STARS! Can't speak for the plumbing side of their business since it appears that they feel like they are General Motors and Plumbing is a ""Division"" of theirs the Heating and AC side folks -in particular the Sales guy knows nothing about - why? Likely because they have still not figured out how to charge $5,000 to install a toilet. Long story short they are EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE for their Heating and Air Conditioning services and no matter how courteous and polite they are I have better use for my money than to overpay for things. We had a Heating and AC system installed at such a ridiculously overinflated price that after rebates and tax credits we were only partly ripped off. Then to add insult to injury they kept working hard at getting us to sign up for an extremely expensive service plan that is 3 times the cost of the one provided by New Jersey Natural Gas company's affiliate company. I would strongly advise that you NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM, however if you feel the need to see for yourself then call at least 3 people for quotes before you invite them in for their Pony Show - you will be floored by how much higher these guys come in at. more

I have been very pleased with the plumbing, heating & cooling services I have gotten from A.J Perri. I have tried other plumbers in the past and they have been unreliable. A.J. Perrih as been there whenever I called. From children, especially the 2 year old, putting items down the toilet to leaking toilets to a whole new furnace, AC unit and water heater, A.J. Perri has been there! more

AJ Perri saved me. On new years days during the night around 4 am I heard water running in my home. I was able to turn it off but was worried when I could get someone out to fix it. I called AJ Perri at 8 in the morning and talked to 2 very helpful women who comforted me and were able to schedule an appointment. At around 9:20 a young man showed up and was very professional. He showed me his i.d. and proceeded to my bathroom where he diagnosed and fixed the problem. Even when he was done he gave me his number and told me not to hesitate to call if I had questions. I love the service I received from AJ Perri especially on a holiday to come and address my problem. more

2 techs came out to my house to replace my kitchen faucet. They did a great job and they are good guys! I am very happy with their service! more

Called A.J. Perri as I had a coupon for a free service call, a savings of $49. \r I would have saved 10% more if I had scheduled the appointment on line. \r Turns out I had a crack in the garbage disposal unit. Ran to Lowes, prior to him coming, to purchase the same model as it had lasted for 29 years with no problems (just in case it was the disposal). Good thing, because it would have cost me over $500 more. He said theirs was a better unit. But come on now, $500 for a garbage disposal. Don’t you think that’s a bit much? I ask you, what is better than $79 with a life span of 29 years. This is where the rip off begins. If you buy their units (regardless of what) you will pay dearly for it. Their service was excellent but I do recommend that you purchase whatever needs to be replaced from your local hardware store and then call them for service. Plumbers are expensive regardless of who you use. I have had many in my home with poor results and am happy to say, so far so good, with AJ Perri \r more

What took me so long to use this company? What took another company hours, two calls to return, overpriced and obviously incompetent; took A.J. Perri an hour to fix for a fraction of the cost. Very professional, efficient and affordable. It left me with a great taste in my mouth and a new found belief that there are still great companies out there. I am so thankful. more

AJ Perri did some maintenance to my furnace this past fall and I have to say that I’ve never had my furnace warm up my home so quickly before. It used to take forever to get my home comfortable and now it runs like a charm.
