WORST Moving Experience EVER!!!! AVOID at all costs! 10/24/2008

I've moved countless times during my 45 years on this planet, but this company was the WORST experience of my lifetime. Everything from start to finish was a nightmare. FACT #1: This company goes by two names: Air Ride Moving & Storage, Inc and Meyers Van Lines. FACT #2: They have an ""F"" rating on a business review site that I cannot say here. Not a D rating, but an F. There are 28 other clients who have had similar NIGHTMARE experiences that I did.\r \r They stole from me. They broke my items. They delivered my goods 1 week late. They charged me double what we agreed upon. They showed up in a pick-up truck with a 45-foot trailer. The movers were all recent parolees. HORRIBLE experience. Stay away. Cons: broke my items, stole from me, ripped me off, held me hostage for my goods more

Worst moving company on Earth...guaranteed! 12/10/2007

Air Ride Moving & Storage gave me a quote of 890.00 and then increased it to almost 1,200.00. They showed up in an unmarked van, unlike the Air Ride van on their site with their logo. When they arrived, I wanted my money back because of the unmarked van, the poor service and the fact that the movers were not in uniform. They told me that I would lose my 250.00 deposit, if I was to cancel. I had no choice but to accept. To make matters worse, they destroyed many of my goods. Among them was an Television and my bed. When I called them, they sent me a fake looking claim form and said that they would get back to me in 1 to 2 weeks after receiving it. Almost 3 months have passed, and when i try to contact them, they tell me that I have the wrong number. Not even the proper authorities can get a hold of them I guess this is why Air Ride Moving & Storage has so many complaints with various agencies. These agencies have another 25 people to deal with because of this family owned and operated criminal organization known as Air Ride Moving & Storage. Pros: Absolutely none Cons: They break your stuff, use bait and switch tactics, and don't respond to claims. more

I wouldn't recommend them. 7/2/2007

Overall experience, very unipressed. \r \r We requested a particular move in date, and while they wouldn't guarentee the date, they said it wouldn't be a problem, but when we called dispatch, they never returned our calls, and when the didn't come when they said they would, we called them and they pushed the delivery date back. This happened 3 times. Meanwhile, we were sleeping on the floor for 9 days. \r \r When we unpacked our stuff, we found plenty of broken and missing items. When I asked about some of the more obvious broken items, the mover who brought our stuff said, ""Are you trying to tell me that this wasn't broken when you left California?"" and, ""That wasn't in the shipment I picked up in California. You can make a claim."" Very rude. \r \r We were doing our first cross-country move, from Calilfornia to Colorado, and we went with Air-Ride Moving and Storage. We were surprised that they subcontracted to River Cargo movers without saying anything, but the sales staff was polite and cordial and understanding, and the movers who picked up our items from our house were polite and efficient. \r \r That's where the difficulties began. \r \r I'll never use them again. Pros: Polite and friendly SALES staff. Good front end movers Cons: Rude back end movers. Broken items, MISSING items. roughly handled furmiture. LATE with delivery. more

Poor service, lots of hidden charges and nowhere to be found when you've got a complaint 3/11/2007

I went through Movers-dot-com and got a referral to AirRide Moving -- biggest mistake I've ever made with any move I've ever had. Where do I start? They were all professional and prompt to reply when I was evaluating their service before I signed on with them -- and now when I have complaints that deserve to be addressed, I can't reach anyone. I call, I send e-mails, I've even reported them to the business consumer authorities that Citysearch won't let me name (the bee-bee-bee). No response or reply. Lame. First of all, the estimate was WAAAY off. I went over my inventory with the sales person over the phone and she continually assured me that the estimate was exceedingly generous and would likely not be over the quote. Yes, we had more boxes than originally estimated -- but that shouldn't have added $2,000 to our $3,000 estimate for a total bill of $5,000 -- a full $1,000 higher than the highest quote we got from any other company. Next, all the charges that the salesperson agreed to waive for us, re: stairs, etc? The move foreman seemed to know nothing about it, and proceeded to add more and more charges to our bill, all contradictory to the original quote. Two professional movers came -- but they also hired on 4 day laborers (from god knows where -- maybe the home depot or U-haul parking lot) who essentially did most of the work. This was NOT a good thing -- they used a dolly from my apartment, overloaded it, and broke beyond repair. They stacked boxes overly high, such that I witnessed them falling several times, resulting in boxes that would split open and spill the contents. I saw them hastily try to repack the items with very little care -- god knows how many more times that happened since I wasn't able to supervise every stage of the move. I dread opening my boxes when my goods are finally delivered. All in all, the absolute WORST movers I've ever worked with. NEVER EVER, EVER use them. more
