Wow, what can I say. I unpacked our stuff yesterday and items were broken, dirty, and tossed all through the truck. I called and complained and Mike (an owner) blamed the truck driver and myself...then hung up on me! I guess my only recourse is to make sure nobody makes the same mistake I did.
Backstory, two extremely huge dudes and a companion show up at our house. They immediately insist they are paid up front (in cash) for the 4 hour minimum. They start loading and since we were fairly well organized, and they are basically throwing things into the truck they are done in 2 hours. I ask them if they could help me move two more things to a different area of the house, and the leader (Ben) says no. ""Can't do it, it was only in our contract to load the truck. If you want us to do more it will be extra."" Unbelievable! I was really surprised by this because we had been very nice and hospitable to them, giving them things that they asked about that we did not want to take with us. Luckily, one of the guys went in and helped me. Ben eventually helped to, but only because the other guy did. It actually took a total of 2 minutes extra, and they still were done and gone, paid for 4 hours, and only doing 2.
Anyway, there was a lot of things broken during the trip. My grill, a bunch of pictures, furniture, lamps, a table, our mattress was also soiled due it being packed terribly. The people I hired to unpack could not believe that a so-called professional company packed it. I mentioned the packing job when it was being done to Ben. His answer, ""I'm a professional, people pay me $175/hr to pack their trucks, I get hired by everyone, I know what I'm doing."" Yeah...right, tell that to my broken possession. Don't make the same mistake I did...
