Birthday Celebration 9/27/2010

We recently held a first birhtday party for my granddaughter. We had planned to have over 20+ people there ages ranging 8mos- up. So you can only imagine the challenge of planning a menu that could meet the diverse needs of this group--but Chef Mark Gallagher did it! From child friendly finger foods- to an array of bbq'd meats- vegetarian selections-various salads- and appetizers the palates of all there were more than satisfied. We had held the event in a park- so he had coordinated all the details for us- from the gazebo- to the tables and chairs...dishes- serving trays..to a separate tent for the bday girl's presents so that she had some shade while celebrating her big day.... All we had to was show up and decorate--which is the funnest part! more

Small Garden Wedding Extraordinaire 9/9/2010

After meeting with Chef Mark to plan our wedding, he said, ""Just have fun and I'll take care of everything."" And that's just what he did! During the months preceeding the event, he checked in frequently and was always available to answer questions or offer suggestions. His charming and fun personality really made everyone in our family feel so comfortable! Most importantly, Chef Mark made everything about our wedding day so special! He tailored the menu (and the whole reception, actually), to reflect the intimacy we wanted for our celebration. Not only was the food fabulous, (our guests are still commenting about how great it was) but the atmosphere Chef Mark created with his creativity and professional talents was incomparable! I was worried that my Italian mom would get all stressed out having someone in ""her kitchen"" but Mark couldn't have been more reassuring and nice on that level as well. He and his staff were so courteous and amazing all day - We love Affordable Chef Mark!!!! more

wedding 7/13/2010

We booked Affordable Chef for our wedding in July. Though there were some logistical issues, the wedding ceremony was beautiful. Pros: at least no one got sick from the raw chicken Cons: chef Mark did not show, food was disappointing more

50th Wedding Anniversary party 9/22/2009

Great job. Mark arrived several hours before the party to set up and get everything organized. The appetizers were fantastic and the main courses were perfect. His server circulated with the appetizers and handled the wine bar for our guests. I received many compliments on the quality and varity of appetizers. The Affordable Chef aka Chef Mark Gallagher 8/3/2008

\r More like the miracle chef...\r \r My wife and I were trying to host a pre-wedding BBQ for our families. Initially we had approx 25 people and had a beach BBQ planned. We ended up with 50 people and, at less than 24 hours notice, secured a venue close to the beach.\r Despite other weekend commitments, Mark managed to cater a full 3 course meal with at least 3 options for each course. He also staged tables on the decks of the property and arranged facilities to handle the beverages. Once again - this was with LESS than 24 hours notice.\r Everyone loved the food. We had plenty to eat and it was a perfect family event.\r I can't thank Mark enough. He is easy going, helpful, modest and does an incredible job.
