DO NOT BUY FROM AFFORDABLE AUTO WHOLESALE!!!! 9/16/2010

I can't post my experience (too many characters), but this is the type of vehicle you can look forward to owning if you buy from them: Test drove car - VERY LOUD squeal fro right front brakes on most stops. Front pads are at 90%, rears have 60% pad material remaining. Front rotors are discolored and grooved-they are most likely not machined nor replaced when last brake job was done. The inner brake pad shims have detached from the pads, and the right rear inner pad is missing its shim. Rear rotors are also discolored and grooved-recommend replacing brakes, all pads and rotors front and rear. *Check Fault Codes-There are two engine fault codes- 16815-Warm up catalyst; bank 2: efficiency below thresh hold 17831-Secondary air injection system Bank 1: insufficient flow. Additionally, there is a fault code fro the Central control module for central convenience-no communication intermittent. Advise that this may mean that this control module is starting to fail. We have seen this module fail in cases where it has gotten wet (under the seat). Inspect left front door handle-handle seems to stick when pulled gently lubricated latch and handle, and it didn't seem to help much. Door latch striker may need adjustment or latch may be worn and binding. X-Check Brake Fluid-fluid near minimum **Front brake hoses are starting to crack-recommend replace. X-Check transmission fluid and note any leaks-transmission fluid is VERY DIRTY-recommend service, appears to be long overdue X-Check coolant-there are leaks-there is coolant under the intake manifold-likely from coolant pipe or seal. *Coolant seepage at radiator-lower right side. X-Note visual condition of battery, battery securement and cables-loose and installed incorrectly. X-Check engine oil-Oil leaks at cam adjust gaskets and both rear cam plugs. Recommend replace-oil is 1 quart low. X-Check exterior lighting-left front running light, fog light and side marker light all not working. X-Note wiper and washer operation-wipers are streaky X-Breather hose has been replaced with a rubber hose that fits poorly. more

Great Used Car Lot 8/27/2010

The staff was nice not too pushy, but what you would expect. They were very willing to make their car fit my needs. There were a few issues in the beginning, but they made sure to take car of me and deal with everything free of charge. Now I have a great car in Longview and I am very pleased with how everything turned out. I would recommend affordable auto wholesale to a friend. more

Great First Time Car Buyer Experience, Seconded 8/2/2010

Well, after the family 'beater' broke down, it was time to invest in a new, used automobile. I was interested in purchasing a truck/SUV. Affordable Auto Wholesale was the first used car dealership that I visited for two reasons: 1) They had an interesting selection of trucks/SUVs on the lot, and 2) the dealership was located very near to my house. Just a few minutes into strolling around the lot and looking at sticker prices, a saleswoman, named Bonnie, promptly attended me (if you decide on checking out Affordable Auto Wholesale I recommend working with her!). She was super laid back and patient with me as I went through the search and test driving phase of the car buying process. I ended up deciding to purchase a 2001 4D Chevy Blazer after talking with one of the lot's mechanics. I am very pleased with this ride after driving it now for 2 months. No problems so far and I do not expect any for sometime. One of the reasons I chose the Blazer was because of its condition inside and out--especially clean on the inside. Its original owner/leaser obviously cared for it with much attention to detail. At any rate, Bonnie and the lot manager, Emmett, helped me to get the deal done in an expeditious and satisfactory manner. Thank you to both of you. I would definitely encourage anyone in the market for a solid, used car to check out Affordable Auto Wholesale. Pros: Awesome saleslady, Emmett at the controls Cons: Nothing outstandingly uncommon to the used car market more

Great First Time Car Buyer Experience 7/24/2010

I am 19 and purchased my first car which was a great looking 1999 Audi. When I took it for it's safety check, it was discovered to have a lot of negative safety issues. I called Emmitt and told him I needed to bring the car back and start over because of the safety problems. He said bring it back and he would see that I got something that was safe and affordable. I found a 2001 Audi that I liked. It had a few small problems. The car was taken to the Audi dealership, repairs made and I am as happy as can be. The car is in wonderful condition and I look good in it. I would highly recommend Affordable. I received great service from Emmitt, Chuck and Donna. THANK YOU, AFFORDABLE AUTO. Pros: Listened to concerns Cons: Have to ask a lot of questions more

Pleasant car buying experience. 7/12/2010

We went to AAW to look around, not really expecting to buy a car that day. We test drove a couple cars and when we were talking about our budget we didn't feel pressured at all to buy something out of our price range. The staff were very friendly and we really felt comfortable there, from when we walked onto the lot to when we drove our purchased car away. I would recommend Affordable Auto Wholesale to my friends and family! Pros: friendly sales staff, not pushy more

These Guys ROCK!! 6/15/2010

I had just looked on craiglist for a car an seen a Cadillac Seville 1994 .. The price was VERY nice for me an really could not believe that it was true. So i had came here an Melissa A. (a very nice lady) showed me it. WELL they all worked with me to get this car as fast an easy as possible. Emmett also had took it to DEQ for me :) On the way out the door I had wrote this review an could not get goin that good SO..ED had helped me get this goin. Pros: nice, polite, not pushy at all Cons: VERY RAINY !! LOL more

So far so good, will leave updated review 5/17/2010

My husband and I saw an ad they posted on craigslist and so we decided to stop by and look at the car. Ed helped us, he was really friendly and he didn't pressure us at all, which is nice when you're making such a large purchase... the last thing you need is some annoying car salesman breathing down your neck, pressuring you to buy the car. That DIDNT happen here. That's rare. They worked with us and my not so perfect credit. I'm not going to lie, I'm not crazy about my interest rate but that's not their fault and it's nice that they work with blemished credit. We love our new car and it was sold at a great price. After driving it we are noticing small problems that can easily be repaired and I'm sure the dealership will be honorable in repairing these things considering we've only owned the car for less than a week, my update on the level of service they provide in fixing these problems will be up after tomorrow when we talk to them. If you're in the market for a new car I'd recommend checking their inventory. They have a good selection with great prices, ask for Ed! Pros: not pushy, work with multitudes of credit more

Selling Unsafe Unsound Vehicles knowingly!!! 5/4/2010

I went in and purchased a vehicle two weeks ago from Troy, which I was specifically told by Troy there were no issues with it when I asked and that it was 'cherry'...though the GPS screen would not come on, he assured me that it was 'just a fuse' and they just hadn't replaced it yet. When the spare tire thing was full of water, he assured me the trunk wasn't closed properly when they washed it and that was the reason (yeah, right, that was sooooooo not the reason!)...here we are two weeks later, come to find out the cruise control is out, the horn doesn't work, the dash instruments are out, the GPS components are missing out of the car, AND I have a head gasket that is no good-right now, I can only drive the car 5 miles each way to work before all the coolant runs out...I called them several times in the past week or so to report this and have received no phone calls back...the only thing Emmet will discuss with me is the GPS disc, and that is ONLY if he picks up the phone when I call, because he won't return my calls. Emmet admitted to me that Troy had only been there for a month and didn't always know what he was talking about when selling vehicles. All I want is to trade this car for a different one on the lot...they sold me a lemon, with things they advertised that are not even in working condition...a head gasket is a HUGE deal on a car I just paid $8000 for that they assured me was sound. I understand the car was 'as-is' when I bought it, but I believe they also lied to my face when asked about the condition of the car. I just want them to make this right. I was also lied to by Troy about the warranty that was purchased on the vehicle. He told me it covered absolutely EVERYTHING since it was a luxury car, and was 3 years 36000 miles---come to find out, it is only 2 years 24000 miles and powertrain only...I was lied to by this dealership. I want them to make it right...they NEED to make it right. I should not be stuck with an $8000 vehicle that was a piece of crap when they sold it to me, and they KNOW that it was!!!!!\r Cons: they lie! more

What a joke! 3/26/2010

Sad little lot with a bunch of cars that look good from the street but then you get up close or get in them, bad. don't go! Pros: they had cars Cons: their cars were bad more

Let The Buyer Beware! 3/15/2010

I went to Affordable Auto Wholesale looking for an inexpensive car. I didn't have a lot of time so I rushed through the buying process. That was my fault. The salesman said the car was ""way under the Blue Book price."" I drove the car and it seemed to run okay. I looked under the hood and looked clean and not bad condition. The salesman said he checks all the cars to make sure there aren't any fluid leaks regularly. Well, when I got home I found out that I paid 50% OVER the Blue Book price. My stupid mistake. Now, when I went out to the car, I see a puddle of oil under the car. I learned my lesson. Don't trust Affordable Auto Wholesale! Pros: Friendly Cons: Dishonest more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SVC/POORLY MANAGED 2/8/2010

I spent my entire day on the phone from out of state trying to find out if a car I was interested in was still available. I called several times and was directed to at least 4 different people and each time was told the car was a another lot. I spent an entire day off waiting to get an answer. I even spoke on one general manager, who directed me to another manager... who never called back. \r \r My favorite conversation was with a salesperson who said "" Don't they have car lots in Seattle?"" I only hope his next paycheck comes from unemployement.\r \r I can only imagine the service I would get after buying a car from these people and having a problem.\r \r This place screams BUYER BEWARE! Cons: Very Poorly managed, non exsistence customer svc more

Excellent Car Buying Experience 11/23/2009

I went to Affordable Auto W/S after driving by while out looking for a car. The staff was extreamly helpful and made it very easy to find a car that i relly liked! They have a great selection of cars that are all priced very fairly. i got a great deal on my car. I looked around and couldnt have found a better price. They even helped me get financed with my poor credit. I would refer Affordable Auto wholesale to anyone that is looking for a gerat car for a great deal! Pros: Very Helpful and Polite more

OMG Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! 11/20/2009

They sold me a ten thousand dollar volvo for six thousand and I really didnt think that I could even buy a car. When they said I was approved and could pick a car i was shocked. . My credit score is below 500 and I had a bank rupcy and repo less than a year ago. The whole thing did take some time, several hours infact, but in retrospect, i suppose it was a small cost. I worked with one of the girls and a big finance guy. They laughed and joked and made it a really cool experiance. I will go back and so will my family. Pros: professional, easy, good payment plans, no stalkers Cons: Very Busy, sometimes its hard to find your sales person. more

Sold Me A Broken Vehicle 5/26/2009

I purchased a vehicle a couple weeks ago from this dealership. The car was having problems starting since I drove it home. I changed the spark plugs because this is often times the reason a vehicle has idle problems and hard starting. The problem was still there. I took it back and after a day I got the car back with a note saying I had installed the wrong spark plugs and they put the correct ones in. I drove the car home and on the way home the check engine light came on again. I decided that the dealership was too incompetant to solve the problem so I took it to our family mechanic. They pulled the car into the shop and pressurised the cooling system. They then showed me that the head gasket was leaking fluid into the #3 and #4 cylinder. I had them install a block seal so I could get the vehicle home. Today I took the vehicle into the dealsership to see if they would help cover the repair costs and was treated very rudely. Their manager John came over to me and continued to talk down to me saying that there was no problem with the car when they sold it to me and that the block seal was sufficient enough to fix the problem. The block seal is like a band aid on an open wound. I was then told that the mechanic I went to was trying to rip me off and that that is what every mechanic will tell you. It's hard to believe that the mechanic was lieing to me because I was standing over the car when they did the test and they showed me the leak. The dealership pretty much told me that I was on my own. The repair bill for a head gasket to be replaced correctly, $2500. What I paid for the car, $6995. Wow what a rip off. So do yourself a favor and DO NOT shop Affordable Auto Wholesale in Portland Oregon. Cons: Rude manager, poor customer service more
