Call it fate or karma but I woke up one morning and thought to myself, I'm going to die if I can't find someone to help me. We had just moved from Texas to Washington State and I didn't even have a doctor here yet. That morning I decided to choose a dentist instead of a doctor. That was not unusual for me, it was a back and forth thing in Texas. I would wake up unable to breath through my nose due to the gobs of infection in my sinuses. Migraines so bad I couldn't lift my head and I was starting to lose the vision in my left eye. My blood pressure had been increasing with every visit. The pain so severe I was convinced my life was over. The dentist would look my teeth over and say I'll see you in six months for a cleaning, I'm not finding any cavities. The doctor had gotten to the point of X-raying my head to see how severe the infection was. With each visit he would adjust the antibiotics according to the severity and finally told me I would probably have to take antibiotics every six months or so for the rest of my life because the infections were probably being caused by allergies.
Fast forward to September 2009, the day that changed my life and a dentist that saved it. I Goggled the closest dentist to my house due to my failing vision and bad headaches I was afraid to drive too far. I walked in the door of Aesthetic Dentistry and said Dr. Lawson I have no where else to go, I have tried everything. I feel so much pain in my face I might have gone a round or two with Mike Tyson. He took X-rays and said, ""I don't see anything."" Then he said, ""Lets try a different kind of X-ray and check again, I have a hunch."" He came back with a smile and said I had a cavity below the gum. It was a small hole and it looked to be about ten years old and the nerves had died. This was the reason I had no tooth pain and the tooth looked normal to the naked eye. The tooth itself had penetrated my sinus cavity then the tooth cavity had eaten through to my sinuses, all the bacteria and garbage from my mouth was leaking into my head. The infections were so bad because they were not caused by normal bacteria from allergy's but bad bacteria from my mouth.
Dr. Lawson suggested we do a root canal and we did it that day. It took a couple days to calm down but I woke up about three days later for the first time in many years able to breathe through my nose. My vision restored and most important no headache of any kind. I had not known a day without a headache in more then ten years. I'm now headache free, my vision restored and my blood pressure is normal.
I had been so bad at times I wished someone would cut my head off and thoughts of suicide to end the misery if that is any clue of how bad off I was. I even had a CT scan to rule out a brain tumor.
I can't thank the folks at Aesthetic Dentistry enough. They are the best I have ever seen at what they do. You never wait and the whole staff makes you feel like family. For me though, Dr. Todd Lawson is a hero. I really do believe if I had not met him I would not be here today to write this thank you. He wouldn't give up. I'm so grateful he didn't.
Thank you Dr. Lawson for being so good at what you do and caring enough to keep trying till you found what no other doctor or dentist could!
Pros: Everything you would want in a dentist office
