Advantage Rent-A-Car

As my wife & I stood in the sun for nearly an hour watching the other rental company shuttles go by every few minutes while waiting for Advantages shuttle I had my first bad feeling. I wished I would have heeded it!\r Once we finally got to their location we were given a filthy beat up junker so we went back in and ""up-graded"" (bait & switch?) to a dirty and dented but in much better condition mustang. \r Returning was an adventure, dont follow the signs that lead to ""Rental Car Return"" because thats not where they are!\r To top it off they wanted me to shake a little sand out of the floormats! Evidently they dont clean the cars before they rent them out to the next customer, thus the filthy condition it was in when I got it!\r Our trip to Hawaii was wonderful for the most part but this company is one to avoid!!! They take the cake for the WORST I have ever rented from!!!\r more

To begin with, we paid Advantage for a full tank of gas. However, halfway up the freeway we discovered they had given us less than half a tank. I attempted to return the car a day earlier than planned. Advantage wanted to charge me double for the entire use of the car for an ""early return."" They would have had the car available to rent to someone else, yet they want to charge me more. They refused to take the car back a day early for the lower price. I left and will waste two more hours of my day, plus the gas to drive from my house to Advantage in order to return the car tomorrow. I will NEVER do business with Advantage again, even if another rental company costs more. Cons: Not easily located, terrible customer service more
