Very good, down to earth, no nonsense style 1/26/2008

I have started with this school in 08/07 and so far it has been very beneficial to me. The options of classes and interactions is truly refreshing as it is difficult to find one specifically focused on self defense versus an entire system and its history (although that's there too). I walk in feeling excited and ready to learn and walk out feeling very satisfied. Pros: Small classes means extra personal time Cons: small space-sometimes makes you feel like you're a little cramped more

safest place to train. best instructor 8/7/2007

I took private lessons from Scott for years. I had taken lessons from almost all the big schools in town before going to Scott. The main reason I took from Scott, was that he would spar with me for hours with the anything goes format like in the UFC, and I would never get hurt. Sure I would get scrapes and bruises and such, but nothing that would injure me so badly that I could not train. Scott also proved his system works. He won The title for his weight division in the colorado venue. Pros: I recomend Scott's private lessons more

Great defensive and karate instruction for men and women. 5/28/2007

My husband and I had karate instruction (kenpo) at this school for the last nine years and not only enjoyed it, but received an enormous benefit from the self-defense training. Our instructor allowed us to work at a pace that fit with our goals and offered encouragement without pressure. The private lessons are very affordable and the cost includes voluntary participation in group classes as well. Our karate instruction was thorough and physical but at no time did I feel that it was too rough for a woman, on the contrary I learned a great deal without ever getting hurt. The school also offers shoot fighting separately which is a very different type of training, but we chose to study karate only. After nine years at this school, I would highly recommend it. Pros: No belt-testing fees, very affordable lessons. more

Tracy's Kenpo is cool, but the school's main focus seems to be on shoot fighting, which is what you see on UFC. 4/18/2007

Their sparring is too rough for me, and you see almost no women doing their shoot fighting, which is extremely rough, where even teens are getting injuries. I left there after 1 year because of that. Pros: Tracy's Kenpo. Iif they would only teach just that, I'd like it. Cons: Shoot fighting seems way too rough for most women, so only the guys tend to do it. more
