If you want to spend money at a salon that wastes its time with cute packaging, champagne & coffee drinks, trendy mood lighting & receptionists with attitude---go to any one of the other of hundreds of NY salons. At Advanced Skin Care, Isabelle & Anna have been caring for the faces of New York's women, models and celebrities for 25 years. The level of experience is unmatched anywhere else. Most importantly, after the Oxygen facial or Enzyme peels, you leave looking radiant (literally, my skin glows and looks fresh faced and tight) and have had a major change in your skin. Advanced Skin Care was not only the place that completely rejuvenated my skin and gave me my face back...they are also my family. Anna, one of the owners, became my second mom. While doing facials she counseled me on relationships and life decisions I was faced with. She healed my heart and my face. Before coming to Anna I had to wear makeup to cover up all the blemishes on my skin. Since she fixed my face I haven't had to wear makeup at all. I developed moderate to severe acne in September 2009. I believe stress at work and school might have been the culprits. I tried everything in the market to counteract this: from over the counter products, dermatologist visits, prescribed medication, fancy products from Sephora- but nothing worked! Some products worked for a little while, and as soon as all the breakouts were gone, I'd get new ones the next day. The worst part was people looking at me with pity, asking what happened to me and suggesting solutions. 5 months later I was recommended this place by a young lady at the counter of Bigelow's chemists. It took me a while to decide to go, specially because of the cost of the treatments, but I decided to go, and I must say that after two weeks my face looks so much better! I'm finally blemish free and it looks like it will stay that way. I have several visits in the next few months which will target my acne scars and hyperpigmentation. Next week I have a microdermibrasion appointment. I simply cannot wait until the end of the treatments where I find myself with a normal complexion! The women who work there are very sweet and attentive. They took the time to explain the do's and don't s of skin care. My only suggestion would be to improve their ambiance and make it more spa like. Then again, it's a skin care center, not a spa. The treatments are pricey, but worth it. i found advanced skin by searching this city search website. i calledthem about prices and the services they offer,they seem to have the leisure market covered. i went to the shop for laser treatment, a very nice eastern european vibe as soon as you walk in. excellent employees and the newest machines in the many diffrent rooms. i have since recomended advanced skin day spa to family and friends. top notch facials, peelings and microdermabrasion. i was inspired to write this review because of the last review, the last review on this site was horrible and left an obnoxious taste in my mouth. call these people, make an appointment with them. great customer service amazing machines and results. theyre located in the middle of manhattan off fifth avenue. let these people handle your facial pampering needs they know what theyre doing Pros: located in the middle of new york, multi-lingual employees, complimentary food and drink more
