Dr. Elkholy started his residency a Brooklyn/New York University hospital 1992. He completed his residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 1993-1996. He did pain management fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine 1996-1997. He became an assistant professor at Yale University School of Medicine teaching residents and fellows 1997-2000 pain management, anesthesia, and acupuncture. He became director of pain management center at VA hospital Yale University from 1997-2000
