Overall - very rushed appointments, meaningless diagnosis, clumsy treatment and extremely unprofessional customer service. Do not use this office for your dermatology needs. Period.\r
The first time I visited Dr. Saal it was the standard in and out, hurried experience common with most doctors these days. Oh well. \r
I tried his treatment, following his directions. Things seemed to get better. I petered off of the cortisone, as he had recommended. Then - things got worse again. I scheduled an appointment with him. It has been 3 months since the first one.\r
The first thing Dr. Saal said to me was ""You were suppose to be here 6 weeks ago - what happened?"" in a very angry and confrontational way. I apologized and explained that I thought he had indicated 6 months, not 6 weeks. He didn't seem to believe me. He hurriedly wrote out a prescription for antibiotics to be taken orally. I thought this was pretty severe. I asked him for more of an explanation about what he thought was happening. His diagnoses was: ""The skin around your nose is inflamed."" Wow. We all knew this was the case already. He had unveiled the obvious. The cause of the problem: ""It's hormonal"" That is the only thing he would say about it when asked again. ""It's hormonal. It's hormonal."" \r
Throughout the whole session he seemed very angry and overbearing. He brought his chair up very close to me and opened his legs, pressing his body and face into my personal space in a very upsetting way. I was so shocked by his behavior I finally came right out and asked him if he was angry with me. His response: ""I'm not the one with a rash."" I wasn't sure how to take this, aside from just assuming he was trying to humiliate me. I left on the verge of tears.\r
I phoned for a deeper explanation but neither Dr. Saal nor any relevant person called back.\r
Bottom line - don't bother using this office: your experience will be rushed, meaningless, ineffective and maybe even truly, truly horrible.
Pros: none that I can think of
Cons: truly, truly horrible
