Advanced Foot & Ankle Care

I work on my feet all day and have had problems for years. I went to mt family doctor, he referred me to an orthopedic surgeon who also"specialized inn foot surgery' then I went to two podiatrists before a friend who had the same problem sent me to Dr. S. I have a very high arch and hammertoes with plantar facitis that was driving me crazy. I had one surgery and foot inserts made by the previous doctors. Then I went to foot solutions shoe store and spent $500 + on shoe and more inserts. Bottom line is after a thorough exam and an MRI and some nerve test it seems I had a nerve problem and the hammertoes made shoes impossible to fit. Dr. Scheinin did surgery and made proper medical orthotics (they are not all the same, believe me) . I am having my other foot done this summer but so far I am as good as I had hoped for originally. Dr. Scheinin warmed me that with the previous surgery and my arches I may always have problems but at least I can find shoes and work. He made me understand that I had to be realistic about my feet and not have unreal expectations. I did but the other docs did not tell me any different. The office staff is helpful and really trys to make the appointments as timely as possible for a busy office. It would have been great if I had seen Dr. S first but doctors refer to the same people good or bad sometimes. I also found out I did not have the same problem my friend had so m,y treatment was totally different, painful feet are not always the same. Pros: Great care and staff Cons: sometimes I had to wait 15-30 minutes more

For years it was easier to ignore my foot pain until my wife convinced me to visit Dr. Scheinin. Dr. Scheinin quickly determined the cause of the pain and recommended corrective action. His knowledge and professionalism put me at ease about having surgery. I was fearful of not being able to play basketball or run. I had the surgery and after the appropriate healing I can run, play basketball and golf with no problems. Dr. Scheinin is thorough and high skilled at his profession! I can't rave enough about Dr. Scheinin's outstanding skills and professionalism. Dr. Scheinin performed a bunionectomy on my right foot around May 2005. Prior to finding Dr. Scheinin I visited 2 other surgeons and thought living with the pain might be a better option. As a runner and aerobics instructor, I was very concern about mobility and being able to resume activity pain-free. Dr. Scheinin was patience and shared all the information I needed to make a decision about surgery. By following Dr. Scheinin's instructions I was able to return to full activity after allowing for proper healing. To this day, while running, weightlifting or just walking, I am never reminded that I had foot surgery. In addition, my shoe selection after surgery hasn't changed. Dr. Scheinin is truly excellent in his field in every aspect and highly recommended. more

Dr. Scheinin performed a bunionectomy on me in August of 2005. Four months after surgery, I was snowboarding and biking with no significant pain. Less than one year later, I have completely forgotten about the surgery except when I put on a pair of hiking boots that were too narrow for me before the operation. Now, I can hike and bike with no pain afterwards, whereas before I always started feeling pain halfway through my hike. I highly recommend Dr. Scheinin because he is an excellent surgeon with sincere and thoughtful bedside manners. Pros: Great Surgeon, Excellent bedside manner. Cons: None more

I have been a patient of Dr. Scheinin's for many years and couldn't be happier with his practice. His treatments and recommendations have always been thorough and had positive outcomes. So uncommon in today's world of medicine, Dr. Scheinin spends time with his patients to listen and catch up on their lives while treating them, instead of rushing in and out of the exam room like my other doctors. He genuinely cares about his patients and this results in the best possible care. Additionally, the office staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. more

After having a number of foot surgeries by "the best" doctors my friends recommended I needed to have more surgery. The first doctor I saw wanted to redo my foot. Dr. Scheinin was able to target the main problems and after surgery he recommeded I was finally able to have a day without pain. Yes, it takes time to heal but he never told me otherwise or made promises like the other specialits I went to. more
