I had my first root canal performed by my dentist on a tooth that had ""died"" due to an old injury. It was an uncomfortable procedure and seemed to take a long time.
A few years later I had switched dentists and was told I needed a second root canal for a similar problem with a neighboring tooth. My dentist referred me to Dr Lepore for the procedure.
Both he and his staff were congenial and the office equipment was much more modern than at my original dentist. The doctor explained what he was doing at each point, and the procedure itself was relatively painless.
Dr Lepore showed me the before and after x-rays of the tooth and explained what he did. There was some risk of needing the tooth pulled, but he worked with my strong desire to save the tooth.
He also showed me x-rays of the previous root canal and showed how the dentist went a little too deep on the filling (and why you don't want that). He took multiple x-rays during the procedure to ensure that he was getting to the exact area in the tooth.
All-in-all I'm not a fan of dental work, but if I need more I would go to a specialist again.
