Advanced Dental

Very disappointed. Had a cleaning and full x-ray. They told me I had a small cavity. They quoted me $200 to have it fixed. Made the appointment only to hear after the filling that it would cost me an extra $120. Not sure if I should call this a scam. more

I chipped several teeth in a sports related accident and needed them fixed right away. I was a little nervous at first because of some of the mixed reviews online, but after checking out their website and seeing pictures of other customers that they worked on I decided to give them a call. After going to their office I can see why some people could misunderstand what is going on. They do things differently than any other office I've ever been to like spending time asking questions and getting to know what I want before working on me. They took a lot of photos of my teeth and explained everything that was going on and what I needed to do to fix it. The staff was friendly (and cute) and helped me understand the work that I needed done and how much my dental insurance was going to cover. The doctor was nice, spent a lot of time listening to me. I was really nervous because my front teeth were messed up and he made me feel comfortable. He showed me a bunch of other examples of work that he did and was confident that he could fix my teeth the right way. He did an awesome job fixing my teeth. You can't even tell that anything was ever wrong with them. I'm glad I made the decision to go and highly recommend their office. more

Pain and hard sell. Rude manners and unprofessionalism. Is that enough reason to stay away. There are far better offices on this site with great reviews. Buyer beware! more

Everyone at Advanced Dental was very friendly, from the first phone call to the teeth cleaning and meeting the doctor. One of the best cleanings I've ever had. They were very thorough in taking pictures and xrays and explaining everything to me and how it all worked with my insurance. I had a cavity filled and it looks like a real tooth and no pain. I recently was a new patient at Advanced Dental. I had an appointment to see Dr. Maroon at 4pm, and to have my teeth cleaned after at 5pm. I arrived a half an hour early as they had told me to, and they did not even begin the paperwork with me until 4pm. It wasn't until 4:45 that I actualy was able to see the doctor. I then had my teeth cleaned, which was unpleasant because I was unable to understand one single word my hygienist said. The dental assistant who had helped Dr. Maroon was so unprofessional, talking to me about her personal life, her experiences with her boyfriend and so on...She was absolutely not focusing on my appointment. Dr. Maroon also displayed signs of unprofessionalism. He swore and cursed at his staff, and insulted them every chance he got. After my cleaning, I was brought into a room, and waitied another half an hour. They told me that the doctor had some things to dicuss with me. He came in and rushed through telling me all that was wrong with my mouth. I don't know what mouth he was looking at, as I have been to the dentist on a regular basis, every six months. He seemed to find numerous things wrong with my mouth all of the sudden, and said I would need to pay $10,000 to fix my teeth. The girl who checked me out was extremely rude and unhelpful. I had questions about my insurance plan, which she did not answer, as she did not know the answers. She was very quick and short with me. And when she found out I didn't want to schedule another appointment, she immediately dismissed me with total disregard. She was pressuring me to schedule another appointment, and when I wouldn't she became even more rude. I would not recommend this office to anyone, especially those with children, as Dr. Maroon's bad mouth and the music they play there are completely inappropriate. The staff was very limited, and not one single person there showed me any professionalism. I was there way longer than I should have been, and then made to feel bad when I refused to spend money to fix teeth that didn't need to be fixed. I saw another dentist after this experience for a second opinion, and he couldn't even find one cavity in my mouth. I was presented with false problems just so they could make money off of me. it was my first visit today at advanced dental and i would tell anyone looking for a new dentist or even someone just looking around at what else is out there to definately go check them out. The staff was exceptionally friendly and made me feel like i made four new best friends. It was very clean and is the first office i've ever been to that didnt have that funny chemical smell the second you walk through the door. Dr maroon has a great sense of humor and made me feel very confident in my dental decision making. five star rating all the way... go see for yourself! you wont be disappointed i promise! more

I have always been nervous about going to the dentist. Maybe that's why I didn't go for so long. When I went to Advanced Dental for my first visit, everyone there was kind and friendly and that helped to make my nervousness away! I spent about 2 hours there for my first visit. I got a cleaning, had some xrays taken, had all my questions answered and learned a lot about my teeth. Dr. Maroon sat down with me and actually showed me the teeth that needed work. His assistant had taken pictures and I was able to see exactly what he was seeing when he looked in my mouth. That was great! By the time I left the office, I was so excited to get started with my work. I have been a patient there for about 9 months now and I just want everyone to know what a great job they do. I want to let everyone know what a wonderful office Advanced Dental is! I have been a patient of Dr. Mike's for a while and it's time I let him and everyone in the area know what great service and excellent care they give me everytime I go there. From the smiling faces and corteous greetings, to the prompt and knowledgable care I get, I can't say enough good things about the office. The staff is always so kind and friendly , and really go out of their way to make me feel comfortable and put me at ease. The hygenists are so gentle and thorough I look forward to my cleanings everytime! The assistants are so well informed I feel like they go above and beyond with any questions I may have and explaining the procedures. Dr. Maroon is fabulous and I can't thank him enough for the beautiful smile he has given me. Never before with any other dental office I have ever been to have I felt so comfortable and so well taken care of. I highly recomend this office to any and everyone. more

I just got back from my dental cleaning and I have to compliment the dental hygienist at Advanced Dental. She was outstanding. Her name is Edyta and she did the best dental cleaning I've ever had. She was so sweet and gentle and very thorough. I usually don't rave about the dentist, but this was something that I had to share. Everyone at that office has been very friendly and it's a great place for me and my family to go. I so glad that we have a great dental office right in Berlin for me and my family to go to. Being new to CT and in dire need of a new dentist due to an emergency, I did a web search and found Advanced Dental. I needed to get in right away and they were able to accommodate me. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Dr. Mike was great. I found him to be very experienced and funny too! Once he figured out what was wrong with my tooth, the receptionist found out exactly what my insurance covered and let me know what my cost would be before they did anything. This was a big change from my previous office where I wouldn't find out what the charge was or what I owed until after they did something. Dr. Mike and his team were very thorough and they informed me that the first visit would be a little longer than normal because they needed to take pictures and xrays and check out my teeth and gums, but after the first visit, the other visits that I had were very quick and the work was done without pain and expertly. I'm really glad that I found Advanced Dental and I've told several of my co-workers about them and they've also been very impressed with them too. Hope this helps someone out there looking for a great dentist. You won't go wrong with Advanced Dental. The practice seems to be thriving, so maybe my experience is not all that common, but both times I made appointments I left very unhappy. The initial appointment I scheduled was for a consultation and cleaning, which I was informed would take 2 hours. I scheduled it in the morning at 7am to accommodate my work schedule, in hopes that there would be few delays as 7 is their first appointment of the day. I left the office 3 hours and 45 minutes later, I can see small delays, but an hour and 45 minutes is ridiculous. I recently scheduled an appointment for a tooth ache within the past month, this time at 6pm . After the dental assistant examined me and informed me of the problem, I was told that I would have to schedule another appointment since the dentist was running late and would not be able to see me. It is very difficult for me to get off from work...am I wrong to think this is not the best way to treat patients?? The 6pm appointment is their last of the day, if they truly cared about me as a patient the dentist should have made the effort to accommodate me. Maybe there was a personal conflict, but thats a part of running your own business! Maybe their other patients are so in awe of the free mugs, chap stick, pens, and food in the waiting room that they ignore the lack of client service within this practice. more
