I had an appointment at Adara last week. It was my first visit there, but I wanted to do something different with my hair, and the cosmetologists there sounded like they were well trained/experienced. I had an appointment with Erica at three. I got stuck behind an extremely slow minivan on my way there and arrived right on time (I usually try to be early, although the salons are typically running behind). Well, Erica was ready to go, and brought me back as soon as I arrived. The salon is adorable, a converted house, and the receptionist brought me some tea to enjoy during my haircut. Going into the salon, I had hair halfway down my back and some idea that I wanted it cut above my shoulders. I gave Erica several pictures and asked, "Can we do something along these lines?" She took several minutes to play with my hair and look at my face shape, and then said, "This is going to be fun!" And without needing any more guidance from me, she began cutting away at my hair. Well, the haircut turned out perfectly--she gave me the cut I wanted without my being able to even clearly articulate what that was. She styled it afterwards as well, and I spent the rest of the evening prancing around and checking myself out in shiny surfaces. I'm going back this weekend for a spa service, so I will let you know how that is too. But I highly recommend the salon--and Erica. Now I just need to figure out how to recreate the style she gave me on my own!!!
Pros: Great service, especially for the prices!
Cons: Smaller staff requires a flexible schedule when making appointments
