If you're anywhere near Newburgh, this is a definite stop you should make. Main reason - excellent natural food section. You could easily spend an hour browsing just the fresh produce! Everything seems to be grown locally, great quality food, and reasonable prices. Maybe a bit more than the supermarket, but worth it for the quality. They also have a frozen food and dried produce area, and an excellent selection of natural, whole grain foods. Another side to Adams is the greenery area - a plethora of plant potters, irrigation, etc, and an awesome selection of seeds if you like to grow your own. Also, inside, a gift store (don't go in if perfumey smells drive you crazy) where you're certain to find a pleasant gift for someone, and, not to be missed - the CANDY section, ohmygosh, don't go here if you're on a diet, it's just too tempting!! more

Adams Fairacre Farms is a winner all the way around. I've shopped here since the store, on Route 300 at the intersection of 17K, opened several years back. However, I'd never entered their gift section. It turns out the gift shop at Adams is a great place for birthday gifts, housewarming gifts, and items for yourself. They have a lot of crafty items that make good gifts for your girlfriends. The prices are not exactly cheap but not any more expensive than any other local gift shop such as Jones Farm. more

When I say I could get lost in Adams, it's a good thing, trust me. When you enter the store, you're practically intoxicated by the fresh produce. Even in the dead of winter when other grocery stores have next to nothing, the fruits and veggies at Adams look delicious. Add to that their assortment of gourmet grocery items that are hard to find elsewhere, and you have a winner. Events such as Adams' now annual garden show have established this store in Newburgh...you used to have to go to Poughkeepsie to buy at Adams. I'm always happy to shop here. Their slightly higher prices are worth it. more

My friend kept referring to Adam's as a "gourmet" grocery store. I laughed, but it's true. They have very fresh, flavorful local produce, good quality meats, and brands that you normally find in health food stores. The greenhouse has a good selection for grocery store, and they have little kids' shopping carts, which my preschooler loves. Adams is an experience. On a recent visit during a pre-holiday weekend, there were carolers in the aisles, horse drawn carriages in the parking lot taking folks on rides and of course, a big fat guy in a red suit who was laughing while having his picture taken! There is an abundance of ready to heat & eat foods that are packed and ready to go home. Great salad bar chock full of greens, veggies, cheeses and delectable croutons. Fresh baked breads, cookies, pies and other delights are just waiting to enter your shopping basket. Treat yourself to a specialty coffee while you leisurely shop and help yourself to samples in the aisles. It offers a wide range of products, many of which are not offered in other stores. The prices are compeitive with supermarkets and different items are placed on sale each week.
