Acworth Animal Hospital Review \r \r Careless staff! I rescued a malnourished dog recently. Now, being protective of my already 3 dogs at my home, I kept this new addition dog completely separate. This included potty breaks not in the backyard where my other dogs do their business until our new comer was checked out and cleared. I decided to go with this vet because I had already brought two of my dogs up there for multiple things. Anyways so did the fecal exam on the rescue dog, I was told by the staff no news is good news. If she is positive they will call you today if not at the latest tomorrow. Well just to be sure I waited a couple extra days outside what the vet told me. Anyways, I was bringing in my dog today to the vet for her ears bothering her, and I get a call from the vet. Now I specifically told them this is an abused rescue, I don't know anything about her, but I'm waiting on the results so she can officially join our family. I get a call from the office saying that my rescue tested positive for hook worms. Really?? Oh and by the way they got those results a WEEK AGO!! The vet after finishing up with my dog I brought for her ear issue put the blame on the techs because the techs were told she was positive for worms the day I came in. The vet was not even caring about the situation when I told her I was very upset how it was handled. Do not go here, careless and put the blame on others!!! Not only did this make my perfectly healthy dogs susceptible to worms but also heartworm. This vet had the nerve to tell me that even if my dogs ended up testing positive for worms that it's doubtful it was from our new rescue, and their carelessness trying to not only put the blame on the hourly employees with no degree, but also convince me it's not their fault at all. I will never go back here again, I thought this was a caring vet office until this happened, don't be fooled everyone. more

I went to the clinic because it was close to home, but I was not impressed. The DVM berated and belittled me for only choosing to give my dogs one vaccine (they are 10). She told me the reason my dog was sick was because I didn't vaccinate her. My dog isn't even sick - she diagnosed her with allergies. Also, I waited over 40 minutes to be seen, with an appointment. However, the employees were all pleasant. more

Hateful Vet 9/13/2011

This is my first review I have ever written for a place, i just really feel i need to get this out their because they should not be trusted. The ladies upfront need to calm down. They are rude and snippy and need a educational class on how to work at a business. They are the main ingredient to that business!! When people walk through the door they need to see happy smiling faces that greet you with warm welcomes. Not mono tone aggravated hellos as if they do not care. Not once but 4 times when I go in that is how they act. As well as when you call up very snippy and sarcastic. I brought my dog their and got snapped at by the front desk girl off to the right. She has the biggest attitude! Next, when we had a issue with our pet we called and told them what happened. The actual Dr. got on the phone and proceeded to yell at me telling me I should have done this or that. Wow. I am at a lost for words. more

Never SAW or Talked with VET 2/15/2011

Acworth Animal Hospital (Main St, Acworth) STAY AWAY, DO NOT GO THERE!!!! My very first and last visit was today 2/15/2011. Brought my new 10 wk old Maltest puppy (Pandora) there for 2nd rd of shots. NEVER saw Vet. First took me to exam rm where the tech told me to wait after approx 5-10 min. another tech came in picked up Pandora and started to walk out the door, I asked her where she was taking my dog, she replied to deworm and give her, her shots. I then said I thought she stays here and I'm with her when she gets her exam and shots, the tech replied we take the winers in the back. This was Pandora's first visit they don't know her temperment and they are an animal hospital. The tech took Pandora and returned 5 min later giving me the paperwork, I never saw the VET, when I asked about that the tech told me the vet was putting animals to sleep for surgery. I was never told I would not see the Vet when I made my appt, I was never called and given the opportunity to reschedule so I cou more

Excellent Practice 11/22/2010

Honestly I've been involved with rescue for years. Not to mention my own pets. This is without a doubt the best practice I've dealt with. I wouldn't trust my babies to just anyone. There is only one vet there I do not care for so I try to avoid her when possible. Dr. Carmichael is by far the best I've worked with. He has even given seminars for our rescue. I recommend this group without hesitation. more

Great staff 2/12/2010

All of the staff there is so kind. I really feel like they care for the animals and I always feel safe leaving my dog with them. The vets there are so kind and gentle when they do the exams or shots and seem to truly enjoy the pets. more

Office staff GREAT, vets not so much 9/18/2008

The office ladies are caring and helpful. There is one vet that I trust (I'm sorry I don't know her name, she has blond hair), two others have made pretty obvious mistakes that had to be fixed at my regular vet, at the cost of suffering to the animal. I can't trust each vet there to care for my animals properly, so if I can't see the one vet I trust I do not risk it. more

They care about your pet not your money 6/19/2007

I have been using acworth animal clinic for as long as I can remember. They have always been able to give me appt.s when it was convenient for me, they are friendly, and knowledgeable. When I didn't have the money to pay them immediately, they have held my check until I was able to pay. I would never trust my babies to anybody other than them. Sincerely, Dawn more

Super vet for all Acworth residents 11/24/2005

This friendly vet office gives any family a comfortable feeling knowing that their pet will be well taken care of. The wait times are short and the staff is highly trained. I even had a few last minute visits and they were always able to squeeze us in to see someone. more

A great local veterinarian! 7/25/2005

This vet is convenient to all of Acworth and even Kennesaw. They usually have good appointments open. The vets are all well-educated and helpful, and they will listen to your suggestions and opinions, as well. The staff is helpful, and the cost is comparable to other vets in the local area. more

A Vet That Actually Cares About Animals! 6/30/2005

I had an emergency with my cat, one that required immediate attention. After calling several vets in town and explaining the situation, I gave up any hope of finding one that actually cared about my pet, they only cared about the money. I called this business last, and without hesitation they told me to bring her in. The staff is very kind and caring. My furbaby had to stay 2 days, and although I called about a hundred times, they never acted too busy to talk to me and explain exactly what was happening. The cost was very reasonable, and I will never trust her to anyone else. My heartfelt thanks to the staff! PROS: Caring and loving CONS: None whatsoever more
