One star out of five is too much for the horrible business owner JW Rothwell. When we called for an estimate we had to reschedule several times because he was too busy with jobs. We got a estimate and started saving. We were not impressed by the owner personal skills but since he was recommended to us we gave him a shot. When I called back, Monday 9-6-13, he understandably did not remember me since it had been almost 2 months. He requested I email the quote which I did and he stated he would possibly be able to fit us in the following week. When I said that would be great but asked if it could be a saturday or week evening since my husband works full time and is in grad school and I work full time and we have a toddler. JW Rothwell seemed put off and stated did we really need someone at home since he just wanted to fit us in. I stated we could possibly. I talked with my husband and we agreed one of us needed to be home, like we would want with any stranger contracting to do work on our property. I called JW back on Thursday to ensure he got my emailed estimate quote, no call back. I called again Friday later afternoon and left another message reiterating we wanted one of us to be home, not personal, but we would with any contractor and if he could call back so we could work out a time that would work for us all. JW Rothwell called me back and did not remember who I was. I attempted to remind him and he seemed irritated like he didn't have time to talk, he stated he would have to call me back next week and would probably be able to do the work in 1-2 weeks (not remembering that he stated he was going to be in Liberty). Watching how I was annoyed and attempting not to relay that too much but assert myself I stated that was fine if that is what he needed, but that we have a very busy schedule too and needed more consistency and planning and again asked to set a date. JW refused over and over and stated I was rude and that he had not had a complaint in the 19 years he has been in business. I had to hang up at this point because of frustration. I called back and asked him if he would have treated my husband like he was treating me if he was the one who called him. JW started raising his voice first to be what I felt was very controlling and I raised my voice in response. He yelled I was being bitchy and rude and he would not make a set time and continued to interrupt me every time I tried to say something. I questioned how he owned a business with such a degrading attitude. JW Rothwell had a completely narcissistic attitude and acted like it was all my and husband's fault that we only were in the wrong.\r
We then text messaged back and forth where he blamed me for not letting him go to his truck to get his notebook with who I was in it to look up and know who I was. 1.) he should have listened to my voice mail before calling ME back. 2.) Yelling and degrading and cussing at your customers is never acceptable, if a potential customer who is going to pay you hundreds of dollars requests reasonable things respectfully, if it doesn't fit your needs you communicate that like a calm and responsible adult. My husband called him back as soon as he got home and started to calmly but firmly stated what I told him went on and that it was never acceptable to curse at a client. Before, literally, my husband got two sentences JW Rothwell was yelling and going on and on and on not allowing my husband to speak. \r
We are absolutely blown away with this OWNER of Ace Tree Service. We would NEVER recommend anyone use this business.
