I went to Accent Urgent care after a quite painful injury to my shoulder during my martial arts training. The injury happened on a Saturday, and after persistent pain and lack of mobility the next morning, I decided to go to the doctor. Driving down Blue Ridge Rd, I spotted Accent Urgent Care and decided to go there. When I walked in, I was not greeted by anyone, as the receptionist was not at her desk. I waited for about 2 minutes before saying ""Hello?"". The receptionist came out and gave me a rather cold, gruff, almost condescending ""Can I help you?"", as though I were a homeless man without shoes walking into a five star restaurant. She then handed me paperwork, which is typical. I handed it back in and she told me they would call me when they were ready. I waited for half an hour, odd considering I was the only one in the waiting room. The nurse finally called me and took my vitals, but she didn't seem to really know what she was doing. She then lead me to a room where I sat for another half hour before the doctor came in and looked at my shoulder. He seemed almost annoyed that I was there. He said I'd need an Xray. I waited another half hour before the Xray technician came and took me to the Xray room. She also seemed annoyed that I was there, she hardly even said 5 words to me. After the Xray she put me back in my room and told me the doctor would be in soon. I waited another painstakingly long half hour before the doctor came in and said ""he didn't know what was wrong"" and referred me to an orthopedist. That's it? No tests? No ideas of what might be wrong? Nothing? Nothing. While he agreed that my shoulder was injured, he didn't give me any explanation as to what might be wrong with it. He gave me a sling and sent me on my way, not even offering me anything for the pain. I'm off to the orthopedist on Tuesday, and I'll be making sure that Accent Urgent Care does not get their referral bonus. I am very unhappy to say that I wasted 2 and a half hours, my insurance provider's money, as well as my own for the copay, to simply be told to go somewhere else.
