The workmen were very professional and courteous and made sure I understood what to expect. I am very happy with result; the floor looks new again. We hired Accent to install and finish ~1500 sq.ft. of oak flooring in our new house. The mouth-breathing imbecile they had do the install was completely non-selective and installed numerous defective pieces in middle of floors. Many other pieces did not have the end gaps tight. Borders that were to be applied with screws and oak plugs looked like they were done by a blind man--with the plugs placed randomly and off-center. We had to rip them out it out and re-do ourselves. The fool actually carved his initials in the beech tree in our back yard. To top it off, our young daughter had written ""I love you, Daddy"" on a piece of wood scrap, laying on the porch, and after the Accent Hardwood ""professional"" left we noticed that he had written ""Bite me"" next to it. I know it was him because he used a black ball-point pen for all of his marking. Needless to say, we hired someone else to do the sanding and finishing. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. more

I have used Accent Hardwood Flooring both to install and refinish wood floors. Their work is second to none. Literally, second to none. I found Genia's frank honestly refreshing. I only wish they were all over the country! more

I live in a house that was built in 1920 and is over 2000 square feet. Accent Hardwood Flooring refinished my entire downstairs and upper hall. The owner, Genia Smith, was very professional and pointed out many things that I hadn't even thought about and this saved us time and effort further down the road. They did a splendid job and I have nothing but praise for Genia and her whole crew. Our house was part of one of the home tours about six months later and I had many comments about how beautiful the floors look. I'd recommend them without any hesitation. more

I recently used Accent Hardwood Flooring to refinish flooring in part of my home and install new flooring in an adjacent hallway and bedrooms. When the owner, Genia Smith, came and did my estimate, she was professional, respectful and clearly extremely knowledgeable. I compared prices and checked references and while she is not the cheapest in town, she is without a doubt the best. While her crew was working, they were also respectful, careful and paid attention to detail. My floors were absolutely beautiful when finished. Stunningly so! I would recommend this company to anyone who needs floor work done and, in fact, I will call them again when I get ready to do my upstairs. more

I have used Accent Hardwood to either repair, refinish or install new hardwood floors in several houses over the course of the last 15 years. I have always been pleased with their work and especially Genia Smith's honesty....her great advice has saved me time and money on more than one occasion. In a couple of instances, I have noticed small problems after the floors had settled and called her a year later. She came over and addressed the issue within a few days, no charge. I would highly recommend Accent hardwoods for their integrity and their service! more

Once the work began-- when it was too late to back out -- the owner became rude and uncooperative and the workmanship was poor. The color was wrong, and they told me they wouldn't have time to fix it for another week -- which of course I couldn't wait for, I was staying elsewhere and boarding my furniture while the floors were being done. Later I had other work done by a different company who told me Accent had put my hardwoods down over plywood that any reputable company would have ripped out. To cap it all off, it was really expensive! I would never recommend this place to anyone. more

We had our flooring installed by this company. They were great at the store but the people who installed the floor were subcontractors who were careless and that even created some holes in our walls... more

I had them come out to look at a bedroom floor and needed a sub-floor and hardwood floor. It was very expensive for the carpentry work and way too high for the hardwood. So I went elsewhere. I don't think that they cared if they got my business or not. Pros: Supposedly good work, but haven't seen it Cons: Too expensive, and terrible attitude towards customer more

This company had a rep come to our house to quote a repair to hardwood flooring. There was no interest in providing a quality job to the homeowner, but was more interested in generating a cheap quote for the idiot that caused the damage, or his insurance company. When we asked if her short cut repair compared to other contractor quotes would result in the flooring matching, there were comments such as ""the floor isn't that good anyway"" & ""it's not my problem"". Do not let these people in your house more
