Academy sports and outdoors

Academy has great shoe selection and in the weekly sales paper there is a section of shoes on sale. I have found several great pairs of shoes at Academy. In fact, I picked up my youngest daughter 2 pairs of Adidas at Christmas last year, for ten bucks a pair. This is even cheaper than walmart. My husband and son go to Academy for rubber boots and hunting boots as well, a wide selection at the most affordable prices around. When I needed steel toe boots for work, I searched all over town, from Wal-mart all the way to the boot shops where prices go into the hundreds. Finally I had the bright idea of Academy. There was about 10 pairs of boots there for woman, prices starting at 20 bucks. I did buy my work boots at Academy, 4 months ago and have been very pleased. Thanks, Stephanie more

Academy sports and outdoors offer everything an active child needs in today's world. Whether it's equipment for recreational sports i.e. football,basketball or soccer. Or if it's backyard sports such as yard darts, ring toss, horseshoes, or balls to kick around for a game of kickball, Academy sports will keep your kids active. Also Academy sports has the clothes to go right along with the equipment, from name brands like Nike and Adidas right down to the academy clothing brands. The t-shirts are always a riot with my kid sister because they say something like "step back boys, watch this girl play". Or for the little hunter in your life the Academy sports can fit them for the clothing required to make those hunts. They can also help with swimsuits and life preservers when summer comes around. Highly recommend Academy Sports for all you sporting and clothing needs. more

Academy is always so well stocked with sports gear that I hate to go there with my son, I know it will always cost me a fortune....LOL They have two complete isles, from floor to about 8 feet up of nothing but the pads, helmets, etc. Then in shoes there are a whole 1/2 isle of nothing but cleats. They also sell practice jerseys,socks, shoe inserts, you name it they have it. Our only problem is that Academy is in Houma which is about 20 minutes from our house, which can be a pain if you only need 1 item for the next day's practice and I have to go all the way to Houma to get the item. They are located on Martin Luther King Blvd, across from the new Nissan place and behind Olive Garden. The prices is always reasonable and for the pads they offer different prices according to the name brand and sizes. thanks, stephanie more
