Anyone claiming that they were received in a negetive manner walking into this school is not only lying but has an agenda. Sifu Steve Larson would not accept anything but respect...

Anyone claiming that they were received in a negetive manner walking into this school is not only lying but has an agenda. Sifu Steve Larson would not accept anything but respectful and courtious behaviour even if some idiot off the street walked in being disrespectful. He would be escorted out with as much class as possible. I have seen it happen several times. Nobody at this school will claim it is the only game in town. Many students come to the Acadamy of Kung Fu with belts from other schools and disciplines. And they will be the first ones to tell you that this IS the best game in town. Pros: you get what you give Cons: there isn't one in my town more

A great place to learn martial arts 11/14/2009

I have been training at the Academy of Kung Fu for 10 years and taught for four years. I would recommend the Academy of Kung Fu for anyone who wants to start training in the martial arts. I enjoy training at the Academy of Kung Fu because of the family atmosphere and the respect that we have for each other. Sifu Larson and his staff are always courteous and respectful in every manner. Come in and see for yourself. Pros: Great staff, family atmosphere, and great training facility Cons: None that I have experienced more

Top of the line school! 11/14/2009

The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. Anytime you need additional help or support, it is not hard to find. The friendships you build here are for a lifetime. My husband and children train here and it has not only become an important place in their lives, but mine as well. Pros: Kids learn self discipline, decent prices, and great staff! more

i have been Training here for 11 years, and been teaching there for four of those. Sifu Steve Larson is the coolest person ever. this place has never let me down. i love everybody that trains and works there, all the students i instruct are amazing. i really hope you come in and see for yourself oneday. more

Extended Family 11/14/2009

I'm not a student of this school, but I am a blackbelt from another school. I've visted this school frequently for great knowledgable seminars. I have ALWAYS been treated with the utmost respect and courtesy. Students of all ages have a great time at the seminars and in their classes from what I've seen and experienced. Sifu Larson is extremely knowledgable and has always struck me as an instructor who cares about his students. Over the years, I've developed friendships with the students and employees of this martial arts school and they seem like another extended family to even me. I would recommend this place as a great place to train! Pros: Great people, Good content more

Like a second family 11/14/2009

The Academy Of Kung Fu is an amazing place for children, it gives them structure and goals. Something to work for and towards. My brothers have taken alot from the academy, as have I. I started when I was 16, I was shy and quite, and had horrible stage fright. I am currently 19 and I am outgoing and not afraid to go and perform or be my self. And I fully disagree with smirkdancer... there is no way he could be a fifth degree black belt and be such a rude and ignorant person. The black belts I worked with in the Acadey Of Kung Fu were always honerable and nice. Pros: Great confidence builder Cons: none i have come across more

Great family fun 11/14/2009

I have been going to the Academy of Kung Fu for almost five years now and have never experienced anything like what smirkdancer is talking about. We have had students from other schools visit and tell us it is more like a family atmosphere than most other schools. Meet Sifu Steve Larson and decide for yourself. Great place to train and grow!! 11/13/2009

The time I have spent at the Academy of Kung Fu has been nothing but exemplary. The instructor is professional and knowledgeable, the staff is kind and courteous, and the practicing students are very kind and eager to help. And all this at a very fair price. If you are looking for a place to learn a great martial art, meet great people and have a lot of fun, you can't beat The Academy of Kung Fu in Longview. A+ Establishment!
