Had the ocassion to go to Academy Dental after an accident involving my teeth, Front Teeth. Academy Dental was not my choice but I was brought there through my neighborhood Dentist of 20 years, Dr. Israel Domsky who has since passed. After replacing a front tooth, I protested to Dr. Scott Silverman that steel was showing at the top, color was off etc. I left crying, notified my DentaI Insurance Company went home and called another Dentist. Trying to get my records was an ordeal. The other Dentist wrote his opinion which I forwarded to my insurance company at their request. Upon receipt of my complaint and the Doctor's Professional Opinion, Insurance company trasferred it to an Outside Independent Agency. Dr. Judy from that agency contacted me a few times and lastly told me she wrote and called Academy Dental to no avail. Dr. Silverman would not answer her phone calls or letters.\r

Totally frustrated I contacted the Philadelphia County Dental Society. They wrote a few weeks ago to let me know they are looking into the matter. Today I received this message by snail mail.\r

In regard to thee matter you referred to the Patient Relations Committee, unfortunately I must inform you that Dr. Silverman of Academy Dental Associates, has not responded to our request for a response to your complaint. The Committee has no legal authority to compel the doctor to respond or cooperate in these matters. Therefore, the Committee cannot provide any advice or assistance to you. Sincerely,Teresa Raven, Executive Director. \r

I ask, why do they sit on a committee and what are they getting paid for, don't they have automobiles that can go to a professional office?\r
\r
All I was asking for and I agreed with the Outside Independent Agency, who asked if I would go back for treatment, is for the tooth to be replaced with a better fit that does not have a hole in the back at the gum and steel showing at the top in the front at the gum line and a better match of color. I and the insurance company paid a substantial amount for that to be done in the first place.\r

Apparently Dr. Scott Silverman answers to no one! Has a very high opinion of himself and his work and a lack of communication skills with this patient, her insurance company, an Outside Independent Agency and the Philadelphia County Dental Society. I gave Dr. Silverman every opportunity to speak to me, work with me and fix my tooth, and told him one year ago that I would write a review.\r

We all have to answer to someone, someday!\r
