Acacia Pet Clinic

My dog was referred to Acacia by a professional dog-sitter. Up until 8/08, his care was adequate. After boarding him in August, he returned home with dermatitis, as diagnosed by one of the 2 vets. He was given an antibiotic and prednisone. After no improvement, he returned to the other vet. He said the previous vet had not diagnosed him correctly and that he had fleas. My dog also had a cough, that was diagnosed as mild kennel cough. He acquired both of these illnesses from his boarding visit. When I called for yet a 4th visit (he was boarded again in between the visits) as the dermatitis was not getting better, I was told that I could come pick up a prescription and see the vet a few days later. When I asked if I had to pay for the visit, they said yes. After 4 visits for the same diagnosis, I would have expected the vet, a professional, to comp the fee for the visit. I asked for his medical records and will not return. more

Arcadia Pet Clinic took care of our two pet rats when they were ill. They took time to explain why it was best to put them to sleep. The staff was extremely patient and sympathetic towards my daughter and I as they knew we were having a difficult time. The price was reasonable and the location was close to our home. They are open on Saturdays with limited staff. more

I took my older dog in for a check up and shots. I called ahead and made an appointment; I was going to have the checkup and then bring the dog in to the vaccination clinic to save a few dollars. They told me that the shots and exam would be $77 (If I paid full price for the exam, i would get the vaccination clinic price for shots). My bill was $157 not including the heartworm meds.\r \r First, the exam consisted of listening to the dogs heart. I had to ask the vet to check my pet's knees; they didn't take the temperature, look in the ears, or eyes. When I asked him to check his ears and eyes, he didn't even use an instrument. He looked at the eyes and said "a little cloudy, but he's old" and basically refused to check the ears. In short, the vet did nothing. The rooms were so dirtly, I refused to let them take my dog in the back; luckily the technicial who drew blood for heartworms was great, otherwise i couldn't say anything nice at all. more

We started using this vet because we needed one for our family's Guinea Pig and there are not many in the area that cater to animals other than cats and dogs but they do... We took her there are they were great with her and remembered her (and us) anytime we had to go in. When we adopted our dog, we used them for him as well even though there are other vets closer to our house. They provide a wide range of services and pet foods at good prices and the dog loves the free snacks! They have a cat that is there and is a really cutie - curious and friendly. The staff is always so sweet, and the doctors really take the time to explain everything and take care of my dog. I was so surprised when Dr. Curley took the time to clip my dog's nails and administer her shots! Usually the techs do that stuff! I highly recommend this clinic. I have had a few dogs in my life time but I can honestly say I have never felt so pleased with a veterinarian as I have with Acacia! Their staff has always friendly and thorough about everything they do. They are helpful and just all around caring people. Ive dealt with clinics that made me feel they were going to offer me every service under the sun to get me to pay for additional services not needed. Acacia is not like that! They are real and that is not easy to find. I would recommend them to anyone that wants complete satisfaction from their animal. Pros: Caring, Knowledgeable, Great hours more
