I think it must be hard to weed through these reviews. I can imagine that some of these negative remarks are truly emotional and I hope people take that into account. Because th...

Wow I cannot believe how expensive this place is. At the appointment it seemed nice, building and all. They did not call back with test results when they said they would, so i was...

Wonderful facility 2/8/2008

I have been totally impressed with the service and knowledge of the compassionate staff at Acacia Animal Center. I have gone through losing a beloved pet to a coyote and adopting a puppy with the helpful staff there. All the vets and assistants genuinely love animals and it shows. I got not just one but several follow up calls to check on our puppy when she had a problem. Although I have not boarded my dog there I have a close friend that does on a regular basis, and has highly recommended that part of the facility also. Pros: willing to do whatever they can to accommodate or help Cons: occassionally I've had about 1/2 hour wait time more

RE; San diego fires 12/31/2007

They did a great job during the fires. This person who wrote the bad review is INCORRECT and has no knowledge to the interworking of this hospital. I?ve been going there since there inception and NOT once have they done any thin wrong. WHOS fault is it your mother lives pay check to pay check. Maybe she should have gone to School or made some better financial decisions in life. As for you may be you should that hand outs don?t work when you?re running a business. Just so you know should you read this, I work for the county. The county reimbursed an allowance to the participating faculties, WHICH, in my opinion several facilities are substandard. It really disappoints me for someone like this to put down a CLASS A establishment that has a huge presence in the community. SHAME ON YOU. Pros: Class A establishment for pet care Cons: NA more

Not worth it 12/29/2007

We went to Acacia to find out what was wrong with our cat. We were diagnosed with Allergies, a cold, and then finally feline diabetes. We told the vet we thought it was diabetes and walla a diagnosis and we could have diagnosed him earlier. $1000.000. I understand medicine is not a sure thing but, with the rise in feline diabetes which can often coinside with a upper respiratory infection a urine sample would have been ideal. They are expensive as a vet can get and, try to know things more yourself or you will have a lot of tests . more

Truly Pet Passionate People 10/29/2007

I?m an employee at Acacia Animal Health Center and actually spoke to the above person when she called. Dr. Gallerstein did not speak with the above person nor did he ever deny any financial assistance regarding boarding. The person (above) asked if we were participating in the County program and offering boarding at no charge. I advised the owner that we were not. She was too quick to judge and abrupt. If given a chance to explain, then she would have known that we would?ve done something for her mother?s birds. It?s a shame the birds had to spend the night in the car because we would?ve been more than willing to help your mother out. I want to give a huge THANK YOU to Dr. Gallerstein for doing such a wonderful service to the community by remaining open during all this chaos. He and his family were evacuated, yet he was determined to keep the hospital open to help anyone in need. For the last few days the lobby at Acacia has been full with several families (who have been evacuated) and Dr. Gallerstein has been supplying them all with a safe haven and plenty of food. Even though he was running on empty (no sleep, worried about his house, his family/friends. Employees)?. By remaining open he took in several animals that needed to be evacuated. Thank you for being there for those in need and thank you for caring. You truly are ?pet passionate? and it shows. Pros: Staff, large new facility and cleanliness Cons: can't think of any more

Acacia Animal Hospital 7/28/2005

2 of my cats have been patients of this veterinary practice. Both cats had some pretty serious problems. I felt, at all times, that the staff was extremely competent and caring. Their treatment plans approached the level of human medicine, in my opinion. If you are looking for a good vet, look here. more
