About Faces Day Spa & Salon

Let me first start by saying I've been wearing my hair in a ponytail since FEBRUARY!!!! I have alot if hair (fine strans) wanted layers due to the bulkiness and came out with HELMET HEAD!!!!!! Thinned my hair (crown area) with razor and thinning shears. Was told by 2 other stylists you NEVER use these tools on my type of hair there, is no weight to flatten it down. It still looks like ----! Since February! SOOOOOOOO Scared to have anyone come near my head with a pair of scissors!! 2nd cut here with 2 different stylist and was NOT happy either time--and was not cheap! more

I frequently come here for Brazilian waxes and I would recommend this place to anyone. First, the environment is very professional, clean and relaxing. It is so bright and spacious. Second, the staff is very friendly and very professional. There is never any wait and they are always very prompt with appointment times. The day spa side is very relaxing and they offer a wide variety of services here. From manicures to waxes to massages to hair cuts, they have it all. I would highly recommend this salon! more

My mom and me love this place we went to this business three times in the past year. I am a big fan of the massage places. This is a very good business. All the personnel are friendly and they do a great job of relaxing the customer and providing soothing things such as music and flowers. Good place to go as well as giving a gift certificate or massage certificate to a loved one. I also purchased this to give out to my sister which she loved. more

I have been to About Faces on about 7-10 different occasions. This is a bit expensive place than rest. I have had excellent service in skin care and waxing. The trick is to find someone you like and stick with them. But I do not recommend this place for Manicure. Three time I have gotten manicure and three time I have left with bloody cuticles. The management is not very good at responding to your complaints so if you have one, I would suggest to save your breath and take your business elsewhere. more

My sister got married in May and she decided she wanted her hair and the bridesmaid hair done at About Faces Day Spa at the Kenilworth Shopping Center in Towson. I wanted my hair curled into ringlets and pulled back. The hairdresser did a fabulous job. The curls were perfect; tight, shiny, and controlled. But then the hairdresser took her fingers and combed through my hair creating a frizzy mess. My hair looked like i had gotten out of the shower and pulled it back and did nothing to it. This cost me $60. I didn't want to make a big deal when it was my sister's wedding day and there was no way there was time to redo it. My sister's sister-in-law also had a bad experience. She has thick and curly hair and asked to have it straightened and pulled back. The woman doing her hair acted extremely irritated that she had to straighten her hair and did a horrible job. My sister's sister-in-law paid $80 for straightening and the finished product was identical to what she could have done herself. I have gone to About Faces for other services and they turned out fine. But I do not recommend going to About Faces for hair up dos. My sister (being the bride) had a practice run done so her hair turned out fine. I recommend another place and putting your hair up all the way instead of leaving it down which just asks for frizz and a waste of money, especially in warm and humid weather. more

I went here to get my manicure and pedicure for my wedding. I had an appointment and was willing to pay more to get a really good treatment from a nice spa. Well, when I arrived for my appointment I was shuttled to a tiny little waiting place and they acted like I was inconveniencing the staff by being there. After waiting for about 30 minutes after my appointment and getting nowhere. I decided to leave and never go back. I was shocked at how expensive it is and how rude they were to me. I would never go back. more

This spa in Towson is extremely expensive. You can not possible go here on a regular basis as I would prefer to. I still can not believe it is always crowded because I did not feel welcome by anyone. The masseuse did a pretty good job and was the most personable of all the employees. more

About Faces is a very nice salon and day spa. The day spa is set apart from the noisy salon and is truly serene and relaxing. The check in and paying process is much easier than most other salons I have been out - they have a check out counter and envelopes to put tips in. They are little expensive, but nothing out of the ordinary for a very nice day spa. more

I got a gift certificate to About Faces as a gift - the day I used it was one of the most relaxing days of my life. I had a whole day package that included a massage, facial, hair cut and style, manicure and pedicure, and makeup application, as well as breakfast and lunch. The stylists were all really nice and friendly, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. Yes, it was expensive, but totally worth it. Highly recommended! more
