I had a disaster in my home.\r \r I had a disaster in my home. Able and Willing turned my disater into a very pleasant dream. My sewer was plugged. I had called 2 other companies. Each of the 2 that I called were not very good and mis-diagnosed my problem. They told me my sewer had collapsed. Some of the equipment the brought in my house actually smelled bad and looked old. They left a mess and they had me digging up my back yard and my sewer for no reason. I even had people come out from the city and they were as backwards as the 2 plumbers who had been out. I finally got fed up with all of them and called Able Plumbing, since that is the plumbers that my dad used.\r \r I called Able Plumbing in the afternoon and they had a man come out really quick by the name of Bob. I could not believe it. It was late in the day and when this guy arrived he was still clean like he just took a shower, had a nicely pressed uniform, a clean truck and nice manners. He listened to my whole story and looked at what the other companies and the city had done. He arranged to have a crew come out in the morning and resolve my situation.\r \r Bob from Able and Willing Plumbing called me early in the morning like he promised. He send out 2 men, also very clean and polite as well. They pulled up to my house in a sparkly clean truck. They brought 2 large pieces of equipment into my house. Their equipment was clean and actually looked brand new and didn't smell. They got right to work. \r \r With in 2 hours, my sewer was draining and my toilets were flushing. They did not have to dig up my yard and did all their work in the basement. Before they left, they cleaned up their work area in the basement as well as the mess the other plumbers and the city left. Bob even returned to my house before they finished just to check on things. \r \r Thanks Bob and you guys at Able Plumbing. I will never call another plumber besides you. Nice people, reasonable prices, prompt and professional. They WOW'ed me!\r \r Erica\r \r \r more

Integrity is non-existent in this business 4/8/2012

Could someone please explain how Able & Willing Plumbing is still licensed to serve residential customers! If you drive past the business location, there are deceptive advertising signs all over the place. There are two large banner signs saying: Only $39 Drain Cleaning or Repairs. There are also prices for equipment such as Sump Pumps for $199 installed. There is no mention on any sign about a $299 annual membership fee included with these prices. Does anyone recall their commercial that ran about two years ago on the local cable viewing area with the catch phrase about free labor? There was also no mention about the $299 membership fee. What is the business strategy of this company? Does the business owner get enjoyment in ripping off the uninformed consumer? My mother had six transactions with Able & Willing totaling $1918.75 during 2008-09. It was about that time she was in the early stages of dementia. Thankfully, medication has helped stabilize and prolong the process. There were 3 service call charges totaling $732 with very little information. We do not have 2 of those invoices or copies despite my request to the business. None of the 4 invoices we have itemize labor costs or time involved. Price gouging and opportunistic greed became more apparent with each transaction. On the last transaction , my mother paid $199 for a bogus plumbing inspection. One month later, my mother received an invoice for a Plumbing Protection Program at $299. Able & Willing began to launch a program asking customers for prepayment in advance for work that may or may not be needed over the next twelve months to cover minor plumbing repairs. About two months later is when the commercial began to air. There is more detail about the six transactions in my review at the RipoffReport website. The current ownership has been in effect since January, 2008 for possibly the second or third time with this business. After being unable to resolve the situation at the business location, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. After two months of correspondence, the BBB stated it does not handle uninvolved third party complaints. The BBB voided the complaint and deleted it from the Able & Willing history file as if it never happened. The company went from Unrated to A. Since that time, there have been 2 other parties filing complaints in 2010 and 2011. The business is now rated A+, even though Able & Willing Plumbing is not accredited by the BBB. The business owners response was late and filled with denials and accusations directed at me. Some of his rhetoric includes complete falsehood, maligned accusations, and malicious mudslinging and vilification. There was no attempt on the owner's part to resolve the situation or clear any possible misunderstandings on my part. A few months later, I filed a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General Consumer Protection Division. The owner's response did provide an explanation of the transactions, which contained more denials, exaggerations, and fabrications. I recommend anyone who feels they have been a victim of consumer fraud with Able & Willing Plumbing to file their complaint with the Illinois Attorney General. Forms could be printed on their website.\r Although I do not expect to get restitution for my mother, I am still outraged at the injustice of this situation. Able & Willing Plumbing should not be licensed to serve residential customers. It would be pleasing to hear this business will have every transaction since January, 2008 thoroughly investigated for possible multi tier pricing large variances and inconsistencies sooner rather than later. This business should be held accountable and penalized for any alleged fraudulent activities. Consumers should not be subject to these buyer beware circumstances. There are more ripoffs waiting to happen. more

This place should be shut down. 8/26/2011

Please avoid these people like the plague. My bathroom sinks were clogged up so I hired them to do a simple rodding. This services typically runs anywhere from $55-$75. They sent out plumbers who, instead of assesing the issue, telling me what they where going to do and having me inspect their work at the end just simply went to work and handed me a $325 bill at the end. I called the main office and was told this what their ""flat rate"". I paid the bill and felt horribly ripped off.\r \r A few hours later I went to use my bathtub and found that not only was it blocked up when it had not been before, but now it was seeping up the same black water that clogged up my sink drains. I called Able & Willing expecting them to come out and take care of it since this happened after they did work on my sinks. I was terribly mistaken. I was told that the best deal they could offer was to take $100 off another service call and that they wouldn't even bother sending out another plumber unless I had $225 cash in hand. I questioned why I should have to overpay a second time for a problem they created with the first service call. These people did not care and basically wrote me off.\r \r If you want to deal with unprofessional, money grubbing, fourth rate plumbers then call this place. I would strongly suggest going with a more established company like Roto Rooter or Central Rodding. This business is not even BBB certified. I learned the hard way.\r \r more
