15 days ago I was referred to Abfall to have my very old cat euthanized. When I called, the woman on the phone seemed to understand the severity of the situation asking me how soon we could get there. When I arrived, it was a different story. The receptionist had no sense of urgency, & simply asked me to sign in while listening to the woman in front of me, complain about the price of flea meds for her kittens for minutes. I had to interrupt. I very clearly expressed to the receptionist that the euthanasia needed to be done right away. She asked me to fill paperwork out though my arms were full with my suffering cat. I explained to her AGAIN that he was dying and I would be happy to fill out the paperwork when he was relieved of his misery. By the time she finally went for the vet, it was too late. If I wanted my cat to die in such discomfort, I could have at least kept him at home. This was worse than bad customer service. While Dr. Abfall was kind during our brief interaction, the staff needs to be better trained to understand prioritizing certain situations. Maintaining compassion in these moments is crucial. I will never, ever return to this clinic nor will I refer anyone. I hope that another clinic is able to offer emergency services as I would dread taking another of my pets to Abfall.
