Abbicci was wonderful in the past. Sadly, it is no longer the quality restaurant it use to be. Perhaps the tapas and drinks are good, but dinner entrees were overpriced and poor. We visited just before the renovation and then again just recently, with the same result. Particularly bad is the $40 Porterhouse - it was so tough that the kitchen diced it before sending it out. When we sent it back, they replaced it with their signature saltimbocca. The dish tasted like it had been made 6 hours ago, kept warm (i.e. - dried out), and was drenched with sauce to make up for it. Awful. Abbicci is trying to be a slick, fashionable restaurant with the upscale renovation, but it seems they are paying for it by compromising food quality. In addition, the host had some serious attitude - we did not feel welcome at all. If you are one of those clueless diners easily impressed by lots of wine, high prices and interesting ambience, you will probably like Abbicci. However, if you are looking for honest, fresh, well-executed dishes, you will be disappointed. I'm sad this is the case because we use to love Abbicci.
Pros: new renovation, good wine list
Cons: poor quality food
