Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors

While I did have some issues with damage to the dry wall when they installed, Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors did an excellent job installing otherwise. I had moved here from Iowa, and when I bought this house, I had the carpet completely replaced upstairs. But as you go up, they made a dent in the drywall. They took some of it off, and you can see in the middle and the corners. But otherwise they were very professional and did an excellent job, and I am very happy with the two gentleman that did the installation. more

I had a great experience with Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors. They helped replace the carpet in my living room and bedroom. There was no high pressure in her sales approach. The installation and cost were broken down for us, so there were no surprises. The installers were a husband and wife couple, and they were so precise and so careful we felt as if they were installing it in their own home. This flooring business has a very large selection of samples to chose from, and a friendly, experienced staff. We chose an Armstrong vinyl flooring for our kitchen. Abbey-Capitol's installer was highly experienced and did an efficient and virtually perfect job of fitting the flooring to the room. We appreciate the fact that they are honest, locally owned, offer products from U.S. manufacturers, and that they are good stewards of the environment. (The Armstrong floor they laid is virtually odor-free...no off-gassing.) We are now having them lay additional flooring in other rooms in our home. I can recommend them without reservation. more

It was a brand new home, and we had gone to many places, and we found Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors to have the best customer service. Their willingness to spend time with us and show us options was great. It worked out well! If you go shopping and then stop in there, you'll see the difference. The installers also came out and measured and even called 3 or 4 times to make sure about the installation. The installers were very good, and it was a positive experience! Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors helped us with new flooring for our twenty-five year old home. Our search for flooring started in February. Our initial plan was to replace our carpets. My wife and I looked at all of the major carpet services in the area. My wife met Lori at Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors, and was really impressed with her customer service. She looked through several color samples. The more we worked with Lori, the more we were impressed by her and the whole crew. We hadn't looked at wood flooring yet, and everything changed when we did. Her husband Blake got involved, who was also very helpful. Wood flooring brought a new challenge. We had a white oak trim that needed to be matched. Wood flooring would also require us to replace the tile in the kitchen. Basically, the project kept getting bigger and bigger. My wife and I went back and forth between different wood patterns. Lori and Blake must have visited our home at least a dozen times. We ended up going with a thousand square feet of engineered hardwood flooring for our bottom floor and eleven-hundred square feet of carpeting for our top floor. They also installed some linoleum flooring in our utility room. The whole process was wonderful. Lori and Blake were very accommodating, as far as hand-holding us through the process goes. We called the factory with additional questions, which were also answered. Lori, Blake, the carpet layers, and the floor installer were all first class people with great workmanship. The last time that I used them, they installed new laminate flooring for three bedrooms and my kitchen and carpet in my main bedroom. I had been shopping around for carpets for about three to four months before I was finally recommended to Abbey Capitol Floors. I had been to Lowes, Home Depot, and various carpet liquidators in the area, but none could come close to matching the price, promptness, and the high quality customer service at Abbey. When I went in, it only took about fifteen minutes before I found the exact product that I was looking for and we had scheduled an installation date. They came by exactly when I wanted them to and they got the job done much faster than I had expected. I was totally pleased with everything Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors did for me. They put laminate in the bathroom and put carpet in four bedrooms, and I the installers were wonderful! They were orderly and clean and just great to work with. The only thing I wish they had was different tile options for the back splash. I enjoyed being in the store and, being in private business myself, I wanted to support another local business. I gravitated to them and their work is very nice. more

I'm really happy with the quality of my floors with Abbey Capitol Floors and Interiors. They reviewed all the different options with me, brought samples, and discussed what would go best in my home. Everybody was nice to deal with. They were hard-working and on time. I have used them since the nineteen-eighties for various home projects, and for the reasons stated above. They alerted me that I would be unable to have hardwood floors, as my floors were uneven. The one thing that perplexed me was that they didn't measure the refrigerator before putting in the floors, and now I might have to buy a new fridge. I just think measuring the fridge before installing the floors would have been a "no-brainer" and common sense. I am really frustrated by this, because now my fridge won't fit back in. That one little detail that was overlooked now created a huge problem. It just kind of put a damper on the whole project. Despite this error, they did a great job and I love my new floors. They were hard-working, and they arrived on time. They were also responsive when I called them initially to do the project, and they were careful with my furniture and other possessions. RESPONSE FROM Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors: The problem was not with the height of the floors but with the cabinents being hung uneven by 1/4inch. The problem was not apparent until the installer tried putting the refrigerator back into its spot and one of the corners would not slide back in as a result of the unevenes. We put the customer in contact with a handyman who could help with the cabinets. We try our best to look at all aspects of a job but sometimes there are unusual circumstances. more

It was a very positive experience dealing with Abbey Capitol. Kerry Minor, the saleswoman who was very instrumental in advising our purchases, provided us with excellent customer service. We ended up purchasing some carpeting for our bedroom and laminate flooring for the rest of our home. An outstanding employee, Carl Miller, installed the flooring and he did a beautiful job. Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors has done several jobs for us and everything they've done has been spot on. The last job they did, the installers were really great. They pointed out a spot to us that didn't have enough carpet. They tried to jerry-rig it but we both saw that it didn't look good so they said they would tell Lori about it when they got back to the store. She called right away and ordered us more carpet. I think the installation part of the job is important as the overall store experience, the time involved, and how accurate they are in prices, but, bottom line, installation is the most important and the installers are fabulous! Lori is so easy to work with that I have nothing negative to say about them! They sell good quality and have good salespeople as well. more

This was my first experience with Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors, and it was a very positive one. I got hardwood flooring, then carpeting installed in almost the entire house. Dave was wonderful. He was the only one that came out, measured, and gave me an estimate on the same day. I had used two other competitors, and they said they would have to get back to me for the estimate. In terms of efficiency and knowledge, Dave was the best. I had some old wrinkled carpeting that I thought could get stretched. Dave sent his best man who was patient enough to give it a try. They were really nice about it, and in the end I decided to get new carpet. Their selection was great and they are willing to work with you to see everything that you want in the showroom. They got the materials right away, and everything worked out fine! more
