In the world of business, looks account for little. The glitz and glamour of interior decorators and pristine design always makes me wonder; what do these people have to hide? Experienced consumers know that every layer of sea foam green painted on the walls represents an additional cost on the bottom line of my bill.
What I, and any good consumer should look for, is quality of service. And along Adams Avenue, the full spectrum of this can be seen. But when it comes to my toys and those of my friends, I never recommend the spacious computer screen lit showrooms that have consistently over promised and under delivered when it comes to redoing the interior of my boat or truck.
When I recommend a place, I recommend Abba?s Upholstery and Design. For me, decisions like this boil down to a specific price to quality ratio, and Abba?s is on the top of my list. While it is not the most beautiful store to look at, they do incredibly detailed work using top of the line products, like Palais Royal and Symphony of Silks, with the fastest finished turn-around I have ever had the pleasure of seeing in my twenty years of ownership with two water vehicles, one camper, and two trucks.
The free estimate they offer is a solid promise, rather than the low-ball teaser price you find at most places. They also specialize in antique furniture work, so you can keep the family heirlooms from deteriorating into the moth worn kindling most of us have sitting in the attic.
Is it beautiful to look at? Absolutely not. But is there a place you can get better quality products and work on upholstery and design? If so, I haven?t found it. The owner, Bassem, measures, sharpens, and cuts with a confidence that only decades of experience can afford. They know their work, and they do it well. There is no higher compliment in the world for a business than that.
