Please note that the Firestone Service Center is not the same place as the Aafes Car Care Center. The Aafes Car Care Center is by the Kentucky Fried Chicken on Gruber Road, and the Firestone Service Center is by the North Post Base Exchange at Butner Gate. Ok here we go, a couple of days ago I went to the Firestone AAFES care care center to get an estimate on a 90,000 mile service for my 2005 Chevy Equinox which came to $624 and some change. Competitively priced tires but the service is poor, the work on the car is worse, over torquing lug nuts, rotating without balancing is common. When you identify a problem with the car they expect you to make an appointment rather try to correct the problem they created by the service in the garage. Based on the managers? reaction the couple of problems I have brought to there attention, the management is well aware of the quality control issues within the garage bay and either gave up on them or does not care to do anything about them. If you want good prices on tires and you want to mount them yourself them this is the place for tires. For the record, my girl friend has purchased tires here twice. I have purchased once. Every time I have to check the lug nuts and go back and have them loosened. I am a 40 yr old 250lb man that could not break the lugs free with the tools available in my garage to include air tools. How would my 130 lb girlfriend break the lug nuts free if she had to make a road side repair? I probably over rated this enterprise. Especially since I have explained to them what their employees were doing wrong to the cars and they have made no corrective action after all this time.
