Everyone do your research before going to her. She lure you in by telling you that she has a lot of auditions for you. But actually there's no audition. She will point out flaws in your headshots. She tells you that they do headshots for $150 then she randomly tells you it's $159 to $160 after you paid she will then tell you that she has a lot of auditions coming up and it's just $400. I didn't pay $400 because I turned her down and I hadn't heard from her about taking photos for over a month until I called her. Then she calls me back trying to get me to get more photos and I told her I'm moving to Cali so I'm saving all my money. And she went psycho she started telling me that I'm going to go to California and fail because they focus on the stars. And I should stay here in Michigan and the reason I'm not getting work is because I don't have headshots. ( I actually do but she don't know that) . She told me she tells all her clients to stay in school because every 1/1000 people make it in this business. She looks a mess. There's never anyone in that building besides her, she's rude, and she talks about her clients behind their back. I strongly advice everyone to STAY AWAY FROM HER!!! more

You could say we had pretty much the same experience as all the others posting on here about how unprofessional and ridiculous this "audition" was that we went to for a local TV commercial. As soon as I saw the name Debby Hocking on the top of the sign in sheet I knew we were in trouble. I can confirm what everyone else is saying. This lady is a nut. She gave us handwritten scraps of paper and biz cards off a printer and cut out with scissors with the phone number scribbled on them in pen. I wish I could post an image of them. Just wanted to warn everyone...Aaa USA Models is now Dan's Models & Talent. You can search for them but no actual business exists by that name. She promised everyone who walked in that they were going to be in some movie and they needed to show up at her office in MI for another audition. Right. There was no audition for the TV commercial...it was nothing more than lining the kids up in rows and video taping them as they said their name, age, and city. NEXT!!! That was it. Really?? I was talking to parents who drove more than 6 hours to get there...what a shame that people like this exist in this business. This woman is a joke! Do not waste your time....or god forbid your money. more

I am the mother of a 12yr old girl who wanted to get into modeling/commercials. We answered a casting call on craigslist for Aaa USA Models in Southfield Michigan. The owner Debby Hocking was completely unprofessional, her looks were questionable and the office was shabby and unorganized. She used the opportunity to get up the hopes of a room full of children and in the end was only trying to sell photography sessions. She is taking advantage of children and cashing in on their dreams with big promises of being in commercials or in print ads, when all she is really doing is taking money for photos that are not needed. Just google her and her company to see what you get, the reviews out there are horrible and truthful. google "Debby Hocking" and google "Aaa USA Models". Some of the reviews go back almost 10 years. more

Debby is sooo goofy looking & for someone that claims to have been a model in the industry, you would think she would look great. Nope not Debby, she is crazy with the worst hair & makeup ever with clothes to match her flaky personality. Her office was so unorganized her desk was piled high with photos & resumes from months prior. There is a hand written sign on the door that says USA models. Not even a professionally made sign. I was told to have a seat in the waiting area, where there were only 2 chairs available & aprox. 20 others waiting. She told us that she needed 10 min. to take care of something and she walked out of the office. When I went outside to retrieve my soda from the car, she was outside pacing back & forth smoking. When she came back inside she went to the potty and told my 12 yr old to get out that she couldnt do her business with someone else in there. Afterwards she claimed to need another 10 mins and went in her office and shut the door. After waiting all afternoon for my 1PM appt she finally saw us at 430PM. When she finally did see us and 2 other families she said how horrible everybodies pictures were & tried to convince us that we need to have new photos shot. She offered to have this done for us the following week for $95 and we would only get a few photos to keep & then an additional $120 would be needed to obtain the CD from her. I took a picture of Debby, I cant believe how unproffesional she behaved and LOOKED. She looked like she was strung out on drugs or something. She kept dropping things and forgetting what she had JUST said. Someone should call 20/20 and have them do a story on this place with a hidden camera to expose them for what they really are. I also noticed that ANY positive remarks on here have all the same wording about it being a "rewarding experience" and how helpful Debby is and how they got "print and commercial" jobs. I believe that Debby herself is making these posts. Dont waste your time or money with this person, I believe it to be a BIG SCAM b more

Want to warn others to do yourself a favor and don't waste your time and money with this so called "agency" because they will certainly waste yours as they did with myself and my daughter. more

i've been a model at usa models since oct. 2011. i have found it to be a very rewarding experience. i have done print work, and commercials. the pay has been good. the owner is fair, and honest. if someone else wrote a bad review, it's because they were turned down. not everyone can be a model. this is a great company to work for. more

I TOOK MY CHILD TO USA MODELS IN FEB. 2012. I FOUND IT TO BE A VERY REWARDING EXPERIENCE. I WAS ABLE TO GET PRINT WORK FOR MY CHILD RIGHT AWAY. MY CHILD IS STILL GETTING WORK WITH GOOD PAY. IF OTHERS MAKE NEGATIVE COMMENTS, DON'T BELIEVE THEM. THEY WERE PROBABLY TURNED DOWN. more

I WENT TO USA MODELS IN FEB. 2012. THE OWNER WAS A GREAT HELP TO ME, AND FOUND ME WORK RIGHT AWAY WITH GOOD PAY WHEN OTHER AGENTS TURNED ME DOWN. I'M WORKING AS A MODEL ALL THE TIME NOW, AND MAKING GOOD MONEY. more

I just left. I did not pay the processing fee, she did, not want to take a personal check. Thats too bad I'm a real good looking male. If I'm supposed to trust you to get me work that could make me thousands, than you should ptrust that a 25$ check is good... If she can really put me to work she has my contact info...... Scam or not I would not know. but it does show signs of one. more

I just want to thank all of you for posting about your horrible experience with this joke of a 'business'...Thanks to all of you saying it was a scam, I avoided the experience personally...but when I sent our infamous Debbie Hocking an email to call her out, she quickly responded with a very angry email stating that her husband is a lawyer, and she will sue me for deffamation of character, and harrasment, and spreading 'lies' about her company, and that my wages would be garnished for "at least 10 years"...and then she ended it by stating that she had hired a 'personal detective' to find me, so that she could sue the pants off me....funny thing is, that means she would have to sue all of you. Save yourselves the trouble, and stay the hell away from this psycho. SERIOUSLY!!!! more

USA models of MI run by DEBBY HOCKING will scam you just like they did others. DEBBY HOCKING is unprofessional and claims to hire models. She talks about her models behind their backs, will "hire" anyone and says she needs people for a commercial which will film in a room with her behind her small flip camera. JOKE. She will rip you off. more

This company is a scam. All Debby does is takes your money with nothing in return. She is NOT nice to all children and adults. She has called myself and others horrible names. She is extremely unprofessional. The office where you go to have your 'commercial' shot is just this dinky room with Debby behind a camcorder. She tells everyone they are pretty just so they show with the $25 in cash. more
