Was a first timer today at AZ 88 and was quite disappointed. It was 100 degrees outside and there were no misters on the patio, so we sat inside. What we didn't realize was that the building is all a smoking area, as the waiter told us with a hint of aggravation in his voice, we were in a bar, not a restaurant, so we moved to the mister-free patio. Service was a little slow but we finally ordered a starter, the chips and dips. The unseasoned, undercooked fries arrived with 3 dips; chili ketchup, remoulade, and a bleu cheese dip. The remoulade stood out. I ordered the Burger Al Poivre II, a burger covered in peppercorns, sauteed in a burgundy sauce with red onions, bleu cheese, and bacon. If the bleu cheese was absent, it would have been quite tasteless. Will not be a 2nd timer to AZ 88.
Cons: Smoking allowed
