Arc Angel is possibly the best shop in the San Antonio area. Chris did an amazing job on a piece for me. His attention to detail is on par with the best. There is no one else I'll let work on me again. The staff is cool and the environment is extremely comfortable. It's apparent the artists love what they do, and they do phenomenal work. The price is extremely reasonable. Chris could've charged double what he did if he wanted. The work and attention he put into this piece is outstanding. I'll be back for all the work I get done in the future. Thanks Chris. more

Chris has done 9 tattoos on me and i have never been disappointed. Super clean, super detail oriented, and TOTALLY reasonable on price, you get what you pay for so its not like $50 pieces or anything but for the quality of work you receive i would say they more then hook it up. They are awesome if you need touch ups and I go in there and feel like they actually care about the work they do, not ""in and out"" tattoo artist that have you pick out something and they slap it on you, they work with you so you get exactly the custom piece you want.. I have gotten to the point where i just say roughly what i want and let Chris have fun with it, color, detail, size, everything.. and they are honest if it isnt gonna look right he will tell you honestly and will give you ideas and work with you to come up with an amazing piece of work..\r I will pretty much never see anyone else unless Chris stops tattooing or i move very far away. more

Best Tattoo shop in SA!! 8/20/2011

I took a lot of time researching tattoo shops in San Antonio as well as asking around. A few people recommended this place and said it was very good and was affordable. I was a little skeptical at first because there were only 5 reviews. However, I decided to go. I worked with Louie and he drew up a tattoo on the spot and got started on it right away. He is an amazing artist and great tattooer. His work is extremely clean and he does not rush through it. He takes pride in his work. The whole shop takes pride in it's work and they make you feel at home. Everyone is extremely cool and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone. I have only worked with Louie and he is working on my half sleeve and so far it is amazing. I definitely recommend him. All the other artists work is bad*** as well. Quality work at an affordable price. A must go!! more

Universal City's #1 Tattoo Shop! 2/8/2011

Great tattoo shop. Anthony and Chris are great to work with. A great ""best kept secret"" of tattoo shops in the Universal City, Cibolo, Schertz area. Clean, honest and respectful place. Have a good piercer too, Don, he does all kinds of crazy piercing. For sure a 5 star shop. more

Best Tattoo Shop in San Antonio / Universal City 2/4/2011

This is the Best Tattoo Shop in San Antonio!!! I have had both of my sleeves done, my back, and my calves done by Anthony and Gill Montie at Arc Angel. This Tattoo Shop is maintained very well, it's very clean, has a ton of flash and the guys are very easy to talk to. I have had many custom tattoo designs done which all flow together well. They do NOT rush you, overcharge you or use cheap ink like most other tattoo shops do. Anthony the owner is very aware of making sure you are happy with your tattoo. Arc Angel is a great tattoo shop, I am completely satisfied and reccomend them to everyone, first timers and seasoned tattoo collectors. You will only be impressed. Pricing is competitive, but like everything, you get what you pay for. Please avoid the production $40 shops, get a tattoo, and get a good one. You won't go wrong with Arc Angel.\r more

Completely satisfied, A+ Tattoo Shop! 12/13/2010

This is the Best Tattoo Shop I've been to, well let me clarify, I have been to more impressively designed and bigger tattoo shops, but Arc Angel in Universal City, well this is the Best most professional and highest qulaity of work produced shop I have ever been too. This shop is just north of 1604 in the Live Oak, Schertz type area. Easy to find right off Pat Booker road. Enough about that. I am writing a 5 star review because I have been so impressed with the quality of work done at this shop. I have had all three artist do work on me. Chris did a coy fish piece on my shoulder, it took him about three hours and looks like it was a mulitple sitting piece. I had Gill Montie do one of his ""world famous"" skull tattoos on my lower legs, and although he's known as Gill ""the drill"" it did not hurt worse than any other tattoo I have had. The skull looks awesome. My last tattoo was done by the owner Anthony, it is a black and grey skull on my forearm, he used 6 different machines doing it and 8 diffferent shades of black and great white highlights. I have to say, this place is a cool little shop, based on very old school principles of customer service and quality work. What a find! \r more

Best Tattoo Shop in San Antonio (area) / Piericing too! 12/11/2010

I recently got my second tattoo done at Arc Angel Tattoo by Anthony. He has been very polite, professional, and respectful. As a female it is a little intimidating going to a tattoo shop in San Antonio, but Anthony at Arc Angel has treated me with the utmost respect and dignity each time. There are never any crude jokes or even inappropriate inuendos mentioned. This is a nice change from what I have had to deal with pretty much every time I have gotten a tattoo in San Antonio at other shops. Anthony is a Christian too! Anthony's tattoos have great color and always a custom flare that no other shop has come close to. I watch the other guys at Arc Angel work while I am there, Chris and Gill Montie, each seem to maintain the same level of professionalism that Anthony does, and the piercing guy Don does as well. From a female perspective Arc Angel is a wonderful tattoo shop where everyone can feel confident that they will have a ... at Arc Angel Tattoo by Anthony. Amazing Shop amazing Work! 11/27/2010

Nice Clean tattoo shop. I had Anthony do my traditional Japanese Backpiece. It's an amazing tattoo and I'm always getting comments from people telling me that it's a great tattoo and comment on the color work, it's so bright. I have won 2 awards on it at different tattoo conventions one at Alamo City tattoo Show & at Voodoo Tattoo Show in New Orleans. I'm going back to have him do a traditional Japanese Dragon sleeve.... It's a clean and friendly shop. It's the only shop I will go to now. more
