Best

The AMC might not be the newest or most posh theater... but it's still my favorite. The #1 thing I like about it is the seats. SUPER comfortable, and you can push the armrests...

AMC Southroads 20 Plex Theatre 9/22/2005

This theatre is my hands down favorite. My husband and I are BIG movie fans and come here regularly. The seats are very comfortable and you can lift the arm up as well as recline in the seats. The sound quality is great and the theatres are soundproofed and clean. They don't have those scary "sticky" floors. The prices aren't bad, $6.00 for students and $8.00 for regular adult admission. They also have a Barnes & Noble in the same shopping center so you can run over and grab some coffee. I have always taken in a B&N coffee cup and never had anyone tell me that I couldn't bring it in. We love date night here. Additionally, the kids that go here are pretty well behaved unlike some of the other theatres in Tulsa. You don't have to wade through gangs of kids to get to the ticket booth. more

Really, this is a great, relatively new theater. I'd come here more often if I lived closer. they have 20 full sized movie screens, concessions stands, an arcade, and so on. The only reason I like Cinemax better, in all honesty is that nice little cafe they have. You can't get coffee or a sandwich at AMC Theaters, but its just as well. more

MY FAVORITE THEATRE IN TULSA!!! 7/12/2005

The AMC might not be the newest or most posh theater... but it's still my favorite. The #1 thing I like about it is the seats. SUPER comfortable, and you can push the armrests up if you and your date want to snuggle. Also, the ticket price is reasonable... student tickets are only $6, adults are $7.50. Much cheaper than the $8.50 being charged at other theaters. And parking is never a problem. Unlike the Hollywood (where you're competing with mall traffic for a parking space), there's always ample parking at the AMC, even on a Friday night! And there are fewer "bad" seats... only a few seats are down front, more seats are set back enough to avoid straining your neck to see. So even if you show up 5 minutes before the movie starts, you're going to get good seats for all but the most popular movies. more

  • In Short
In 1920, Edward Durwood opened a single-screen picture house in Kansas City, Mo. Over the next 40 years, his company went on to pioneer the use of four- and six-screen theaters. In 1969, the company incorporated as American Multi-Cinema Inc. in honor of its signature multiplexes. Now, the company is known for theaters with 14 or more screens, as well as innovations such as armrests with built-in cup holders, stadium seating with LoveSeats, ATM-style ticketing and online ticket purchasing.
