American Medical Aesthetics is the best laser center. I have tried other laser centers and found that this is the best place. AMA has a great staff and a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere. I have also been told by other laser places that because I have light skin with light hair laser hair removal would not be effective for me, but I have had amazing results! I feel so much better and are more confident now because of it. Their service is always superior and professional. Ok, so I usually don't take the time to write reviews, but I must do so this time. I've had acne scarring for over a decade now. I have gone to the best plastic surgeons and dermatologists in LA and San Diego. None of them made me feel comfortable the way Asher and Dr. Pien did at AMA. From the moment I walked in, I felt at ease. Asher explained everything to me in detail and he was patient with me. I did not feel like I was being rushed into anything. I truly felt educated about the procedure and I had no reservations. I am an actress so my face is of the utmost importance to me. I knew he was sincere. Plus, I was paying a fraction of the cost other doctors had quoted me for the same procedure. I knew he believed in his product. Now, to the day of the procedure. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel like a queen. Like there was no one else in the world that was as important as me! Tracy, who is the medical assistant, offered me medicine for my anxiety and the pain. I only took tylenol and also a valium for my nerves. I listened to music in a room with a water fall and I laid on a massage bed until the numbing cream kicked in. Once they were ready, Dr. Pien explained what she was going to do every step of the way. Who does that these days? All doctors are out to make money. Not her. I felt that she cared about me the way my mother would. She engaged me in conversation throughout the treatment and told me what to expect every second. I have never, ever in my entire life came across a doctor like her (and my brother is a doctor!). Never. I have a deeply seated respect for her not just as a doctor, but as a human being who genuinely wants to help others. Her knowledge and expertise in unmatched. Once the treatment was over, I was sent to the oxygen chamber (i think that's what it's called) and I fell asleep! Tracy and Rebecca were constantly checking on me though. They were so nice and friendly. It was like have two of my girlfriends there for support. I will say the treatment was a bit uncomfortable, however, I asked her to be more aggressive in certain areas so I expected that. All in all, I whole heartedly recommend AMA to anyone who wants first class service. I really felt like a queen walking out of there and I certainly could not have asked for a better medical staff to take care of me. I will definitely be going back for all my procedures from now on. In terms of results, I am not sure as I just had it done on Thursday and I'm still recovering. I am confident that Dr. Pien has worked her magic though. I will keep everyone posted! This place was recommended to me by a close friend. I was extremely skeptical, being that I needed to remove a dark birthmark that covered a quarter of my face, and I had already attempted to laser it twice in the past. I went in and immediately felt at ease, as the Dr. took 45 minutes to just sit and talk to me, explain how they work their magic (very scientific, as they are actual MD's). This place has a method unlike any other laser institute out there, using natural components of your body to work with the laser. They gave me hope and told me that despite two different laser institutes I went to, they could help me. Now, several months later, I can go to the gym without make-up and don't have to wear super heavy make-up, because my birthmark is nearly non-existent! Dr. Pien changed my life. American Medical Aesthetics is amazing! I have been coming here for years. I've had laser hair removal done in several areas and it is the greatest thing not having to worry about shaving. It works well and did not irritate my sensitive skin at all. It is really not that painful either. I go monthly for facials with the aesthetician and she is wonderful. She is very knowledgable and always knows which products to use. I also have roscea and she knows exactly what my skin needs and which products to recommend. I also tried the CP5 series three years ago and the results were amazing. It improved my roscea tremediously and the overall skin texture and tone. My skin is much clearer and I do get compliments quite often. I have an appoinment this month for the Spectralift. I have also tried botox and it makes me look much younger. I love it! I go in for facials at least once a month and it has done a miracle on my face. Its the best facial I have received and I've shopped around. I suffer from breakouts and every time I go in for a facial they are extracted and removed. The facials I've received are exceptional and I've gotten positive results from them. i got pregnancy mask after having my first child...very badly...after 2 visits u couldnt tell i ever had it..now after 3 i look atleast 5 yrs younger and my fine lines have gone and so has all my pigmentation...AMA iis fantastic. i reccommend it to all my friends and family...i am a model, believe me when i say this place is very valuable to every woman who has skin issues.. This place is amazing! They offer everything! Botox, Restalyne, laser hair removal, facials and even a non-surgical FACE-LIFT! When I first went there I didnt know where to start, so I started with a basic facial, which wasn't basic at all! It was the best facial I have ever had in my life! Then I decided to get laser hair removal since I was so sick of shaving and waxing! That was the best decision I have ever made! No more shaving and no more in-grown hairs from waxing!!!!! I couldn't be happier that I found this place! The staff is great and sooo helpful booking my appointments and answering all my stupid questions. Did I mention that the place is gorgeous? I have been a client of AMA for several years, even before their Santa Monica location opened. I would go see them for laser hair removal at another spa, where they would come 1 time per week. I just love the Santa Monica location because of it's tranquil and relaxing environment. It's like a spa. While you wait, you can lay on the best massage bed I've ever experienced. The aesthetician is very knowledgeable and cusomizes my facials depending on what I need that month. I've had laser hair removal -- and I keep coming back for new areas because I love it so much. The doctor tries to make it as painless as possible. Sometimes I don't even realize I'm having it done because I can read a magazine during the procedure. I've had the Spectra Lift as well, and my face is a lot smoother and more clear, and people compliment my skin often. I take care of all of my beauty needs at AMA. The ambiance alone at American Medical Aesthetics is enough to draw one in. It is relaxing and healing. The staff at every level is wonderful. I have had many treatments done there from a CP5, the non-surgical face lift to hair removal and my all time favorite facials. I have tried many different facials and I love them all. I have been to a few laser hair removal places and by far AMA is the best! They use a laser that is more gentle on the skin, yet very effective. The staff at AMA is super friendly and accommodating when your plans change and you need to reschedule. The laser technician is very thorough and is really nice. I'm from Canada, and I was visiting the area on vacation in May 2008. Someone recommended AMA to me, so I thought I'd give it a try. My experience was fantastic. I can honestly say with the combination of the staff, environment, facilities, services and location...I would never go anywhere else again. I visit the area very frequently and will definitely return without a doubt. I have rosacea and I had very positive results after my treatment at AMA. No more bumps, and the redness is no longer noticeable. The difference is like night and day. The staff was very knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful.
