AJ's Fine Foods

If you are looking for a good selection of gourmet cheeses and wines, head on over to AJ's Fine Foods. They have a wonderful section of hard to find cheese as well as specialty items, such as gourmet deserts. If you are not into baking but want to bring a treat that is sure to please the crowd, take a look at AJ's bakery. more

First off, Phoenix magazine claims they have the best cheese selection- this is NOT true. AT ALL. Their cheese selection is very, very small. A step up from a regular grocery store, but they practically nothing. If you're looking for cheese, go to Whole Foods- they have a HUGE selection of cheese, and a very knowledgable staff- and you can even try any of the selections, which you can't at AJ's. That said, AJ's is wondrful for other stuff. Wine. Their wine selection is great, and their wine stewards are very helpful. They also have a great, huge selection of cigars. Their meats are great, produce completely overpriced, and already-prepared foods are a great alternative to eating fast food! The breads and pastries are fabulous. Leave everything else to buying at the regular grocery store, like soap and toothpaste. more

AJ's is an excellent place to purchase specialty foods. Personally, I shop at AJ's if Im holding a get together at my house, or if I need to bring something nice to a party. I enjoy their wide variety of specialty cheese and wines. Perhaps the best feature at AJ's is their deli/bakery. Their deli offers several different hot meals, which can be purchased by the pound. This is a great idea for those nights when you're just too tired to cook, but feel like a hearty meal. Don't forget to stop by their bakery. Their variety of fresh-baked goods is amazing. Their's almost too much to choose from! more
