My 89 year old grandmother has gone to this shop for years and loves it there. They treat her with respect and consideration and they do NOT take advantage of her. In fact, they have helped her to save money on many occasions. I got into a car accident recently and my grandmother told me to call Max to set up an appointment. I am SO glad I did. He was very friendly, courteous and helpful and he made the process very easy. The staff there were very friendly and welcoming! They did great work on my car and so I have gone back there again for more work. They are honest and professional and saved me a great deal of money. I will only go here from now on when I need work on my car. I highly recommend them! more

I have come to this shop several times for different types of car repairs. I was unfortunate and got hit 3 times in six months! Max, the owner, and his crew, did a fantastic job repairing my car each time. I have been there a few times since these major repairs, for minor ones, and again received excellent service. They were also helpful in calling to find me a rental car at a discounted price, as well as tires. Max is friendly and a pleasure to deal with, and so are the members of his team. If you are looking for a place that will do excellent work, and that you can trust, this is definitely the place to go! more

They buffed and painted a few srcatches out of my car in April 2011. They beat the competitors price by 30% and the paint job was excellent and quick. Dropped it off in the AM, picked it up that afternoon. more

Twice in one months time I had to bring my car in due to damage of my vehicle being parked in front of my own home. If you want honest and professional service, this is the place to go for your repair work. I found this company to be friendly and courteous, I had a great experience. I was backed into by a Chicago Taxi. Max provided a fair estimate, stuck to it and provided the repair in a timely manner. Max and Mark at A-Carr Carstar deserve an A+ for their honesty, exceptional service, working closely with the client, rental service and insurance company. When leaving the repair shop, a lovely flower was on the front seat. The day after the repair, a personal phone call was made by Max to see if everything was repaired satisfactorily. Indeed it was. I brought my 2008 tahoe in for repair at A-carr Autobody. I had an estimate for 2800.00 the truck was hit pretty good. The first thing I was going to do was sell the car after they finished it because I felt it was never going to be the same. They told me it would take a week to fix, they called me in 3 days and said it was finished. When I picked it up I was more then satisfied it looked like and drove like it did before the accident. I recently repaired my vehicle at this CARSTAR. My experience at this repair facility was nothing but positive. My car was in a pretty big accident, and I was worried my car would not run or look good. When I picked up my car it was in great condition. They were very friendly, and helpful. I was very surprised when I read the negative reviews. They were very professional. more

I sum up my experience by saying the customer service here is rude, unprofessional, and possibly not educated. I received two estimates for repairwork on my damaged passenger door. One was through insurance and one without. I called to clarify prices and make an apointment and spoke to Max the owner. He was impatient and rude from the beginning. He stated that I possbily needed a new door, which was confusing considering the estimate indicated I would not. He then quoted me a higher price . Max also quoted a higher price to go through insurance compared to the estimate I was given ($100 more). When I questioned him on this he became quite rude and said he didn't have that estimate, and that there are many bad people out there doing estimates??? Hello, this was someone from HIS shop! Max continued to be rude with each answer and contradicted himself. He really didn't like it when this was pointed out and eventually said, ""I don't have time for this,"" and hung up. Apparently he doesn't like it people realize they are getting ripped off and call him out on it. In the end, I never got a solid quote. As the owner of a small business, I value honestly and customer service and my business is thriving. Max apparently doesn't. So glad I did not use them. I brought my car here for a little scratch to be repaired. It was recommended by the insurance company of the person who bumped into my car. Well, what happened here was way worse than the scratch I got from that car! When I drove away, I realized that a million things were suddenly wrong with my car -- the remote key, power door locks, power windows, power sunroof, and trunk were suddenly all not working! I couldn't even open my windows or my trunk. It was ridiculous. I was really upset, and I went back to the shop the next day, to see what could be done. Well the manager was EXTREMELY rude to me, and denied complete responsibility for the damage. He even tried to tell me that it was like that when they got the car from me!! I ended up having to bring my car to my regular shop and find out that they somehow blew a fuse while they were fixing my car! Later I called the owner of A Carr's to alert him of the inappropriate way in which his manager had behaved towards me, and he was also extremely rude and condescending, to boot! Please, for the love of god, DO NOT take your car here!!!!!! Pros: Speedy. Cons: Rude, condescending, difficult to pull in & out of driveway, no evening hours, just terrible! more
