Feedback: A1 Sparkles, Bridgeport PA 19405\r

We were going to move into our new house and required a move-in cleaning (no furniture) for 2,570 interior square feet. After comparing the market in the Norristown area, we considered A1 Sparkles as the best price/value company.\r
\r
Fay inspected our home and was Very friendly. The offer was Heavy Duty Cleaning (move-in) for $190 and Steam Cleaning six rooms for $260 to be a total of $450 plus sales tax.\r
\r
In the morning a team of three cleaners came in and started working, while we left for the closing appointment. I do not speak Spanish, so we couldn't talk about what to clean and to look for. When we came back from the closing, the three were gone and the steam cleaner just finished his work.\r
\r
He presented an invoice to us for $555.65. What a surprise to have $105 or 25% added to the initial offer. We refused to pay and asked for a phone call of the manager Fay.\r
\r
After clarification we have been told that the price increase came from Traffic Lane Treatment and cleaning the edges of the carpets. So be aware to document all your negotiated services and total price, because it is in the nature of many (not all) companies to add premium services and unwanted add-ons to your bill. A1 Sparkles seems one of these companies.\r

We inspected our new home and expected everything shiny, clean, and fresh. Disappointing to find cobwebs, dusty curtain rods, and window sills. More disturbing than that was the fact, that none of the kitchen appliances were cleaned and obvious brown and grey stains inside the toilet bowls. I almost forgot the big spider on the bathroom wall.\r
\r
So we basically cleaned the fridge, oven, and microwave and removed bad odor even we have paid for a ""Heavy Duty Cleaning"".\r
\r
We received a credit on the cleaning cost after complaining about this bad service and at the end paid $495 to A1 Sparkles. I thought this was too much, but my wonderful fiancée asked to close the case.\r
\r
When you hire a contractor it is like playing Roulette. Sometimes you are lucky and sometimes in this case with A1 Sparkles you are not. Make sure you are around the house to supervise what's going on in your house to point deficiencies out before the contractor leaves.\r

We are looking now for a more reliable cleaning company for a bi-weekly house cleaning. Ideas? Anyone?
Pros: Good price
Cons: Bad value
