With a wedding coming up, things were very stressful and money was tight. I was looking for a company that did point to point transfer. My fiance and I needed to be picked up at the reception site and dropped off at the hotel. I was looking for something inexpensive and easy. I called a number of different places looking for rates, and whether or not gratuity was included or if I had to pay for a fuel surcharge or not and A-1 limo had the cheapest rates for point to point transfer, $45, and gratuity was included. This was great since the reception hall and hotel were only 6 miles from one another. I made the reservation and then never received an email confirmation. So a few weeks later I called to check and be sure the reservation had been made and I spoke with the exact same lady I had before. She stated that it wasn't confirmed because suddenly on weekends, late at night, there is a two hour minimum. Oh and since they realized they didn't tell me this then they will go ahead and reduce the charge to $75 since it is after all only 6 miles. Yeah, they did originally tell me $45, however now it is $75. I have in no way been a bridezilla during this whole wedding process. But if someone tells me one price and takes my credit card to charge me that price, then that is the price. To not call me back instantly, or at all, to tell me that there was a mistake is unacceptable. Then to add $30 later because suddenly the rates are different on the weekends late at night. What if I didn't call to figure out what was going on? Would my fiance and I have been standing outside waiting for a car that would never show up? Or would we later get charged some crazy amount when they originally said $45? This is a great example of bad customer service. I would never recommend A-1 limo service.
