Use A-1. I had never posted a recommendation online until now. The level of detail Tony provided and the quality of the presentation is unmatched. The report is color coded by level of importance, cross-referenced to pictures and further detail and recommendations, and really, really well done. It is all in a hard covered binder. It makes other inspections I've had done look like children did them. more

My wife and I are in the process of buying a new home, and hired Tony to do the home inspection for us. He was extremely thorough, respectable (he even went as far as doing the whole interior inspection in his socks, as to not scuff the carpet), and explained everything in detailed, understandable terms and showed me key points of interest after the inspection was complete. Hiring Tony to do our home inspection is one of the best things we have done throughout our home buying process. He performed an incredibly thorough and detailed inspection. I recently needed a home inspection performed and was unable to schedule any of several recommended inspectors due to heavy volume as a result of the recent new home buyer and existing home tax credits about to expire. Tony was commissioned to do a new house inspection for me. I am so glad that I choose his service over the others. He is as knowledgeable as one can possibly get in the field of construction. I would like to recommend A-1 Home Inspections for those that live in the Knoxville area. We sold our home and moved to South Carolina. After a thorough search for a good inspector we hired A-1 to do a pre-sell inspection on the home we were selling. The inspector that did our home was named Tony; he was an older man, and easily the most professional of three inspectors we have dealt with. The report furnished was light years ahead of the previous reports we had received from others. I highly recommend Tony to do your inspection. We furnished a copy of our A-1 report to our buyers, but they still hired their own inspection company. They were very disappointed with their choice after comparing the job each had done, A-1's inspection was much more thorough! A-1 was not the least expensive inspection quote we received, but as their brochure had said- ""You Usually Get What You Pay For."" We recently purchased a new home in Nashville. A-1 was highly recommended to the buyer of our old home by his realtor. When we saw the job they did for our buyer, we decided to use them for our inspection. A-1 doesn't have an office in Nashville. The inspector agreed to do the inspection, but would have to charge an extra $100 for the travel expense and time involved. My wife and I have had other inspectors - they are not all equal - we decided to pay the extra money. Even with the extra cost the inspection was a bargain. We were furnished a very detailed, professionally written report. Our builder was impressed and our realtor in Nashville commented :I wish we had inspectors like that in Nashville. I recommend A-1 Home Inspections without reservation. We have had three previous inspections; none came close to the professionalism provided by A-1 on our most recent purchase. The inspector was knowledgeable, courteous and professional. We received the inspection report late the same day, via e-mail. The inspection, and the report, was easily the most comprehensive and professional of any we've received. There were 36 color photographs and the inspector made recommendations on all items found deficient. To our surprise, we received a hard copy of the report via mail in two days.
