Last season we had our two woodstoves cleaned by A-1. For the past 15+ years before that we had it done by someone who then passed away. We miss him. So we had to find someone else. The News-Sentinel ran a half-off deal that we were able to take advantage of with A-1 and they proved to be fine at what they did. We will call them again this year. Haven't seen the Half-Off ad again though-wish I could find it. more

Chimney Cleaning & Maintenance 11/3/2010

My chimney had not been cleaned in a few years so this past week we had our chimney cleaned by A-1. I was worried that the buildup in my chimney would be very costly to clean. Rick inspected the chimney and said the creosote buildup was a glaze and very hard. Rick told me he could use an electric drill with a chain attached to break up the creosote. Rick and his helper did a fine job and the price was very reasonable. They were able to keep the dust down and we had no mess to clean up. Rick also put me on his yearly maintenance list.
