Cheap and Juicy 7/19/2003

The burgers here are homemade and thick and juicy. Their A-1 special is only $3.50. You get a cheeseburger(with grilled onions if you want), a lot of fries and a real soda(not watered down). There is only a walk up window so it can get a little busy especially around 12:00. They do take phone orders but sometimes it's hard to get through. But it is all worth it. Pros: inexpensive, homemade burgers, phone orders Cons: walk up window only, crowded, hard to get through more

Quintessential Hood Burger 7/24/2002

A-1 Burgers deserves to make the list. Thier burgers are the juiciest. Their fries are the best, and the prices can't be beat. I'm tired of coming to citysearch and only seeing westside hangouts acclaimed for their fine cuisine. If you want the best don't be afraid to venture into south central. A mere blocks Leimert Park, one can enjoy a burger and fries, as well as, a day filled with great shopping cultural exposure. Make the trip!
