I have been taking my ""Holliday"" to A Very Important Pet since we relocated to Clearwater just because of word of mouth! The staff is amazing and are so great with my mini-schnauzer as she is spoiled rotten and doesn't like being without me. She is always so happy when she is there and I LOVE the cage free boarding option so she can play with other dogs her size throughout the day! :) more

When our Dog Mikey knows when we pull up at the A Very Important Pet shop and he cannot wait to get out of the car and go in to hang out with the other dogs staying there. I don't know why he loves it there so much but, it make me very pleased knowing, when I have to leave my dog at the aVIP, I know that he will be treated with care. Thank You Much for being such a reliable company. It's Definitely appreciated by me and my family! A very Important pet has an amazing staff and they all love my dog like he loves them! more

This is an amazing place to bring your dog if you have to leave town. They always go a great job with both of my dogs. They never come home with problems and they are always happy to go there. A Very Important Pet also has superior grooming to all the other place I have taken my dogs. I recommend this taking your dog there for any pet needs! more

This is a wonderful place for your pet. I adopted a pet from the pound and they made Max look like a million dollars! They truly took an interest in a poor dog that probably had never been groomed before. I am a tough evaluator and I give them a great rating! more

Reviews from a established business women in Cl 12/10/2011

Reviews can be good for a business or bad for a business. The unfortunate thing about them is that dealing with your loved pet is a very highly emotional dealing, especially when you put your trust in someone to care for your pet. It just must be someones fault when your companion comes down with a sickness and it is easy to blame someone Jaycee is a very good friend of mine and I know her center well because I use it on a daily basis. She always gets a ""A"" rating from Animal Control when they come through on their unannounced walk throughs. This person who wrote about her dog can not speak English very well and was screaming and crying when she kept calling and no one knew what she was saying. Her dog died of liver disease which has nothing to do with this center or the care that was given to her dog. I am very proud to be associated with Jaycee because I know every dog is her love and she cares for their safety and health at all times. Her camera system is incredible and her staff is so good. It is very sad to see any dog get sick. I hope this women can understand this was not the fault of anything that was done at the center. I was there at the time she was calling and nobody knew what was going on she kept calling back and hanging up. This is a good business with a really clean and caring environment it is sad when these misunderstandings happen. I just wanted to write about this as a person and customer that has been associated with this business for more than 5 years. more

i hate them 12/8/2011

ATTENTION!!!! PLEASE READ THIS MESSAGE!!!!! I'm writing this message to save your dog's life. Unfortunately, I left my beautiful dog JULIETA with them for 5 days when I went out of town for Thanksgiving. After I picked her up she was acting weird, but I thought that was because she missed me (how selfish). The truth is that she was trying to tell me something. One week after I picked her up, she died. She was a very healthy and happy dog, and these people killed her. I called them while she was still alive at the hospital, and after I told them that my doggy was sick, they put me on hold and never picked up again. I left a message, and never heard back from them. This is SO SAD. Please guys, take care of your pets, and don't leave them with these soulless beings. In memory of my dog Julieta, and for your own pet's life I encourage you, take them somewhere else. more

Have used for 5 years 9/5/2011

I have used this place for 5 years. I live and work in clearwater and I have always been treated so good. My dog loves to come and visit all his play friends and get out every day and exercise. Sometimes when I get home I am just too tired to get that walk in and he is ok with that. They have always made sure they take really good care of me and my dog and have gone out of their way many times for us. I have many of my friends who also use this facility and we are all very happy with the care. Sometimes when I drive up in the morning they may be many cars ahead of me and they will come out and get my dog so I do not have to wait. That is really good service. The internet is sometimes a bad thing for businesses because someone can just go on anoymously just to give someone a hard time when it may not have anything to do with the care of their dogs. We would have a much better system for reviews in place if this did not happen. Not everybody is a good person that does the right thing. I personally have never seen any trouble from this place for me or my friends that use them and I hightly recommend them if you want really good service for your dog. more

Love This Place! 9/5/2011

This is one of the best pet centers I have ever used! I have been using this facility for my dogs for a while now and I love it. The staff are all very nice, friendly and they always make me feel welcome. Jaycee always answers all of my doggie related questions and is very helpful. My boys love coming in, they are always very excited to get out of the car and they run straight for the door! I bring them in for boarding and know that I can go on vacations and such without worrying because they are in very good hands. I also enjoy the cage free option so that my little guys can play with all of their friends. I would highly recommend A Very Important Pet for all of your pets needs! more

Great Boarding 12/5/2010

I have been boarding my very special friend Bailey for many years at A Very Important Pet. I know Jaycee and all the girls that work there. I use this facility all the time for all my needs and I love to tell all my friends how much we love this place. They board, bath, and daycare for my loved pet. I want Bailey to have the best life ever and this allows me to do so. As we are pulling up to the building Bailey is always hanging his head out the window can't wait to get there. When he comes home from boarding I know he has had a great time with all his friends he is so pooped out it, it is so funny. He even snores after he comes home even though he normally does not snore. This facility is such a plus to downtown Clearwater. I am so glad they are there. All the girls are so great and Bailey loves all of them so much. What would I do without them??? more

What a Great Dog Place 10/31/2010

I am taking this time to write this review even though it was not easy to register. I went to this facility for a groom on my dog and I am so happy to see just how happy my dog is after this experience. They were very nice at the front desk and made me feel very comfortable. It is very obvious that they really love dogs. The groomer let me know about different looks that can be achieved. I am very satisfied to see just how happy she is and feels. I will be back for other services. I would highly recommend this place. more

Treated as though my pets were very UN-IMPORTANT 1/2/2010

Upon looking for a place to board my 2 cats, I came across ""A Very Important Pet"" online. On the web site and on the phone, the owner sounded very sweet and made it sound like she was giving me a great deal. However, I received a call the next day from another pet boarding place that was willing to board my cats for $4 less per day per cat but, since I was immediately required to give a deposit, I was unable to switch... boy do I wish I did! Upon bringing my cats to ""A Very Important Pet"" I was instructed to leave them on the floor and go. When I asked to see the ""condo"" and the room they would be staying in they refused my request. Now I certainly was not about to leave my cats without actually seeing what the living conditions would be. The cashier mocked me, making me feel like I was asking for something outrageous. She finally, hesitantly, rolled the condo out to the front for me to see, but never allowed me the opportunity to see the room they were in (who knows what it was like!). Upon obtaining my cats after their stay, they were filthy dirty and smelled like a combination of wet dog and feces. In fact, one of my cats had a dried up piece of feces stuck to the back of her butt. My cats were starved for affection and it was very clear that they did not receive any attention from the staff. Also, one of my cats came home ill. She was fatigued with a runny nose and a scratchy voice. Upon arriving home, my cats ran to their food and water bowls like they hadn't eaten in days. Any little request I had (ex: brushing) I was told that I would have to pay extra for and on the day I requested to pick my cats up (New Years Day), I had to pay an extra ""holiday charge"" even though staff had to be there anyway to care for the animals. Overall, I felt as though this place was primarily concerned about making money and could care less about giving pets the love and affection they deserve. Perhaps the name should be changed to ""A Very Un-Important Pet"" because that is certainly a better reflection of my experience there. Cons: Primary concern is making money more

Wonderful Experience 12/3/2009

Our fur girls are our lives and we are very picky about thier interaction with other people and situations. Immaculate inside and outside - Supervised play - Loads of hugs and kisses TLC -Great Prices, Convenient hours, Highly trained knowledgeable staff -- IT""S ALL GOOD AND WE LOVE AVIP. Thank you A Very Important Pet 6/21/2009

I have been using A Very Important Pet for 3 years now and I have to say ""Thank You So Much"". My happy little pooch just loves to come play! Before I starting going to this facility my baby was very depressed and had alot of separation anxiety. Now my baby is so much happier at home and any where we may go. Jaycee told me along time ago this is the normal but I really didn't believe her. It took awhile to happen but after going she is tired and just looks like she had a good day. Now I see how great the play days and meeting up with her little friends has made such a difference in her life. I know how much fun she has and I really appreciate everyone there. Thanks again for all your experience and your caring staff. Pros: Super Staff and very Convenient more

Great Boarding in Clearwater 11/24/2008

I am very happy that I have found this facility being the owner of 3 dogs can be very expensive especially because I like the no cage situation for my pets. They give me the 3rd dog free and my dogs just love it. I would highly recommend this service to any one who loves the cageless boarding. They have treated me like family and the monitors that are in the place make me feel like my dog is safe and they are really a great group of people. They always up-date me and I love that so. Pros: Nice and clean more

Great Sitters 9/25/2008

My mini pinched had a 4 day border stay and we are very pleased with the outcome. We chose to first visit the site without notice just to see what the level of quality would be. It was clean, the other dogs being housed appeared to be healthy and happy. We walked around and met the staff who were all very friendly and knowledgeable. We felt comfortable leaving our dog there and although I am elated to be back home and to have him with us, I now know a great place to house him when we're vacationing. more

Pet Adoptions 9/16/2008

We adopted a mixed breed terrier. It took a little longer than I wanted, but it was worth it. VIP is very thorough and careful about where they place their dogs, which is fine with me because it let me know that they cared about her and what home she would end up in. They gave us a chance to visit with her several times before the adoption was final and that gave us time to bond and get to know her likes and dislikes. They're worth the time and money spent. When it's time to adopt a companion for Chelsea, we'll be going through VIP. more

Best Dog Boarder and Sitter 9/14/2008

What a great place - our dog absolutely loved it. We traveled to Florida to visit family and had to take an unexpected trip to NY while there. Riley (our dog) hates airplanes, so we were desperate to find a place that would house him until we returned (5 days later). We considered a private dogsitter, but the idea of leaving him with someone we didn't know in a city we were only visiting didn't sit too well with me. I searched the web and found A Very Important Pet. We brought Riley along with us when we toured the facility and from moment one, I knew he was in a good place. He loved running around, playing with the other dogs and interacting with the staff - a staff who seemed to genuinely love dogs. We hung out for about 45 minutes and he didn't want to leave. We dropped him off 2 days later and he practically leaped out of the car before we could turn the engine off. With everything we had going on, it was such a relief to know that he was in good hands. When we picked him up, he was happy to see us, but he wasn't necessarily ready to leave. His coat was shiney, his spirits were up and he was super playful - he was absolutely in his element. I highly recommened VIP for anyone seeking a safe, sound and caring environment for their dog. We'll be returning to Florida for the holidays, and we plan to let Riley stay at VIP for a few nights just to reconnect with that experience. Pros: Caring, professional staff, great play area for dogs, reasonably priced Cons: I wish there were more locations in other citites/states more

Best pet care 7/24/2008

Hands down the best place I have ever takin my dog Annie . She always comes back clean and happy. Furthermore you will want to make good use of the daycare so you can finish some daily activities knowing\r your dog is in experienced hands. As far as im concerned this is the only place I will bring my annie. more

come in and see any time. 6/21/2008

The review about using collars is absolutely untrue. The only collar we have ever used is a sonic collar that emits a sound that dogs hear. We do not believe in any kind of pain given to a dog to stop them from barking. Our doors are always open and you can see through our glass windows at the dogs any time you come in. I have an incredible staff that is really doggie savy and we all enjoy our work and love the dogs very much. We use lots of exercise and fun to ease any kind of anxiety and it really does work. We are open 7 days a week stop by and look in. You will see alot of happy dogs running all over the place having a good time. Pros: Dog lovers here more
