great tattoos 7/30/2011

What a great shop. My family and I had a tattoo party in the shop, and it was perfect. They closed the shop down for the day so that we could have our party. The price was great, it was very clean, and most important the tattoos came out perfect. I heard that there were tattoo artists that would come to my house to do the party, but the manager(kaleb) told me how it was not recommended and then gave me all the reasons why it is a bad idea, and he won me over. I'm glad I listened, because it turned out great. more

Amazing Shop 12/3/2010

I am very happy with my tattoo. I have gotten 3 tattoos from this shop, and I was happy with the first two, but they were both cover-ups to fix other people's work. This week I finally got an original piece done at A Touch of Color, and I was amazed. The artist was very nice, and helped me put together the perfect tattoo. I got a huge skull on my back, and it came out so good. The black and gray work is great. I will be back for more. No doubt. more

Shop overhaul 11/12/2009

A Touch of Color has an up and down past. I am the new tattoo artist, my name is Kaleb Edgar, and I am making a new name for this shop. I have only seen one bad review, and it is over 2years old. I guarantee my work and the shops work. Before you get a tattoo anywhere, you should look at the artists portfolio. I have a full portfolio in the shop that shows all of my work. You can also look at my facebook: kaleb edgar tattoo. Its a business account, so feel free to become a fan. Give it a look, I am a natural born artist who started off painting and drawing, and can customize any tattoo. Thankyou. Pros: New tattoo artist more

A Touch of Color Hamden Ct - Great Parlor 11/23/2008

The above review is something that scared be initially from this spot. I went and checked it out, talked with Leah, a great artist there and a week later got my new tattoo. It was a great experience and we even talked about the person above. The artist she had had only been there for a week and even lied to the owner about drilling for 15 years! He was immediately fired because of what happened. I feel in respect of the parlor and the great work they all do there I needed to clarify the above review. My advice, go here and talk to Leah. more

Best Tattoos and Piercings 7/4/2008

I came into this store in October of 2007 with my own design for an ankle tattoo. I wanted rosemary beads around my ankle(low) with a cross going down to my foot. The tattoo artist, the female one, drew up a cross that was good in detail, to my choice, and in a size that would show best on my small foot. She put some music on and made me relax, since it was an especially hard tattoo to do, for it went around to my achilles tendon and a bit low on the sensitive part of my foot. The whole process went well; we conversed, and I felt relaxed. The tattoo artist went over the right steps for a keeping a tattoo successfully, and talked over about the touch up. She even said she would add white in the beads to make them stand out at no extra cost. I left her a big tip for that one. I came back a month ago to get my snakebites done (two lip piercings.) I had the same tattoo artist that did my ankle tattoo to pierce my lip. The process was painless because of the way she told me to breathe and how fast and graceful she pierced them. Each lip piercing originally cost $45 each, but she pierced both for $80 together. I am now going to go back into the store to get my lip rings replaced with some other ones, for the piercer promised to change them for me. The service is great! and my lip rings did not once get infected. Pros: Easy to talk with employees, good quality in tattoos and piercings, painless procedures. more

rebuttle to bad tattoo review 5/16/2008

i have been going to touch of color tattoo shop for many years and have always been impressed by the professional artists employed there. The work they have performed for me and the many friends and relatives i have sent to them has always been excellent and have never had any problems with the shop or their work. I think one person having a bad opinion of a place does not mean anything, touch of color has been in Hamden at the same location for almost 15yrs with no complaints. i would highly recommend stopping by and checking out their their work and decide for yourself.i have checked their better business burough report and they have no complaints against them, i also checked with the health inspector and they have a clean bill of health for the shop. more

DO NOT GO TO THIS TATTOO PARLOR 8/19/2007

I feel that it is my responsibility to report this horrific business. I went in to get a tattoo, and came out in tears. The person who did my tattoo was completely inexpierienced, dirty looking, and unapologetic about my botched tattoo. From the beginning, my expierience was HELL. At first, he put the stencil on wrong, I was inexpierienced myself about the process of recieving a tattoo, so although I was concerned, I did not speak up. The stencil looked nothing like the tattoo I wanted. The artist tattoo'd lines that should not have been there, and what was supposed to be a fine lined piece of art looked like something a 5 year old could have drawn on with magic marker. I stopped the man mid tattoo, and told him that it was NOT what I wanted, and he proceeded to blame me and tell me that he had done it the right way. Another artist quickly pointed out that my original design was different from my new tattoo, and then the lousy excuse for an ""artist"" changed his excuse and told me that I had moved. PLEASE do not go here. They are dirty (although a new needle was used), unprofessional, inexpierienced, and rude. 2 months later, my tattoo looks even worse. It has since faded to a dingy shade of grey, and the lines are blurry looking. I am now going to have to spend thousands of dollars on laser tattoo removal. My Advise? Take the time to find a reputable tattoo shop (Green Man Tattoo in West Hartford is good). Otherwise, A Touch Of Color will BOTCH your tattoo. This is a terrible tattoo parlor, and I hope this review can spare someone of a terrible expierience with permanent and expensive repercussions. DO NOT GO TO A TOUCH OF COLOR IN HAMDEN, CONNECTICUT!!!!!!! Pros: NONE. Cons: UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNSKILLED. DO NOT GO TO A TOUCH OF COLOR. more
