This clothing resale/consignment store is a total scam. I made a terrible mistake by bringing items in to sell before I checked out this shop's reputation online. It seems they have a history of ripping off the people who consign their clothing with them. I brought in 20 designer items from Armani, Tory Birch and Celine, among others. The owner of the Second Chance Boutique told me that they sold 10 of my designer pieces, but could not specifically tell me which pieces were sold or where my remaining items were in the store. I had to go through all of the racks and try to find my unsold items. I only found 4. The other 6 had ""disappeared."" The scam works like this: They take clothing from a consigner. They then list the number of pieces brought in but do not itemize any of the pieces by designer or description as is standard practice with every resale shop I have ever dealt with. This ""loose, unitemized book keeping"" allows the shop to sell clothing and accessories for much more than they tell the owner of the items that they sold for...allowing them to keep a majority of the profit, rather than splitting it fairly. They told me that ALL of my designer pieces apparently sold on the super discounted sales rack. Since there was no written record of the specific pieces sold, I had no way of knowing what was sold or for how much. In the end, I was then given a check for $46 for ten designer pieces!! As for the 10 remaining pieces that did not sell...I only got 4 back! They said the others had been ""lost."" or donated, even though they were called and told we wanted unsold items returned to us and would be coming in to pick them up. My daughter and I eventually went in a few times to complain about the missing pieces until 2 items magically reappeared. The other items were just taken from us and never returned, which is stealing. PLEASE DO NOT SHOP THERE OR TAKE YOUR CLOTHING THERE FOR CONSIGNMENT!! They make a profit at other people's expense.
