I don't even know where to start. We called A One Heating, Air Conditioning, and Plumbing because we needed a new AC unit and we spoke with the owner, Leerie Simpson. He came and did the review and he gave us an estimate and we went for it. We scheduled the appointment and the installers came and unfortunately, there was a huge problem right from the start.
I watched them install the AC unit from upstairs and they were drinking alcohol in the house while working on the installation. I thought this was very unprofessional but I let them install the unit and they cleaned up after themselves when they were done.
A week later, I started seeing things inside the unit that were crooked or looked like they were installed wrong, but we ignored it because the AC unit was fine and it was July, so it was very hot at this time. A month after the installation, the AC unit completely stopped working. When we tried to call A One Heating, Air Conditioning, and Plumbing, they were unresponsive and wouldn't return our voicemails or calls. We finally got a hold of someone from the company three days later and they told me they would send someone out.
The person came and looked at it and he told me it was missing freon liquid so he told me he would send someone out the next day to put some in for us and that person never showed.
I was mad and called the owner. Leerie said he would send someone the next day to fix the problem and the same two guys who installed the AC unit came to fix the problem. I was skeptical, but they put in the freon liquid and the AC unit began working again. I thought that was the last of my problems, but I was wrong.
A week later, my house was infested with snakes. I had never had a snake problem or snakes in my house, so I called an exterminator and he took care of the problem. He checked everything out and it turns out, when A One Heating installed the AC unit, they never sealed a pipe that was going into my furnace, so the outside wall was exposed which was the source of the snakes. I had to pay the exterminator $1000 to seal the holes for me and it was a headache, but luckily everything is taken care of now. I will never recommend or use their company again.
RESPONSE FROM A One Heating, Air Conditioning, and Plumbing LLC:
Mrs. Chacko, it’s unfortunate your experience with A One was unsatisfactory. However, there are some inconsistencies and contradictions within your review. The system was installed on June 22, 2015. I personally visited your home on the morning of installation, along with the two installers. Approximately at 3pm that afternoon, I again arrived at your home before the installation was complete. There was absolutely no signs of alcohol anywhere! I find it very difficult for you to have seen the two installers from upstairs, three levels down to basement, where the furnace is located. I personally spoke to you on the second visit that day and you had no complaints to mention. You called us for the first time after that on July 21, 2015 saying the system was not working properly. I sent a service technician the next day July 22, 2015 where he found the system low on refrigerant as a result of a leak. On that very day a leak search was done. A leak was found in one of the factory installed service valves. That service technician had a full schedule that day, so I had the repairs done on July 22, 2016 by the two mechanics who installed the unit. Until this review, we have not heard anything from you. With reference to the snakes in the house, the area is known for having black snakes. The hole where the 3/8” and ¾” refrigerant lines penetrate your home, enter a ceiling space where the copper lines run parallel to the ceiling. The lines then penetrate the ceiling drywall and run down to the evaporator coil above the furnace. The copper lines sit flush with the drywall leaving no room for anything to come through. The exterior hole was also sealed with “plumber’s putty” which is common in the industry. There is no way for an exterminator to determine the snakes, if any, came through either hole and to charge you an outrageous price of $1000.00 for repairs. In conclusion, we try our very best to bring any disagreement with a customer to a positive resolution. However, we cannot solve any issues we are not made aware of.
