My child has taken several classes at Kids Kitchen in the past and has had a lot of fun. He is eleven years old and has high performing Autism. Since he is a huge fan of the show ""Cake Boss"", I wanted to enroll him in a 3 day class on cake decorating which had openings an an age requirement of 8+. After attempting to enroll him in the class, the chef at Kids Kitchen replied that she ""didn't think my son would have fun at the class"". Then replying back and stating that he is very interested and then asking if the class was full, her reply again was ""no, I just don't think the class is right for him and that he would have fun"".
First, it is not up to the company owner to decide if my child would have fun or not. Since my son is Autistic, he does not express feelings and emotions the same as a non-Autistic child. He is well behaved and does not cause trouble. I truly believe that A Kid's Kitchen is being discriminatory against my child for this reason - and therefore I will never recommend their classes to anyone in the future. Very disappointing.
